We need to increase our vote count by 450% so despite being T26, I'm not sure if that qualifies as being just outside of the top 25 or not? Of course a move from 25th on a ballot to 24th is a 100% increase in polling points and moving from 26th to 25th is an infinite one so maybe we are, in fact, just outside.

so....after all that you still conclude and confirm we are just outside the top 25 being tied at 26??

Maybe. It depends on how you look at it.

I agree. They're a great team. Just musing on the mechanics of counting poll points more than anything.

Well, there's 32 voters. Assuming 25 points for 1st and 1 for 25th, and based on the fact that we see 56 points awarded to non-top 25 teams, it seems obvious that the bottom three or four teams (23-25), let's say, are missing votes (i.e. not every one of the 32 voted for them) If every one of the 32 voters had voted the same, the 25th place team would have 32 points, 24 would have 64, 23 96, etc.

Suppose that the 25th place team actually has 20 points or less. 24 actually has about 40, and 23 actually has about 75. This would roughly make up the 56 missing votes. The Bison would need to steal 25th place votes from 10 more voters to crack the poll, or double their current points.

Well, that's enough mental gyrations and speculation for one day.

Finally !!!!!This is a like a make up call from an umpire. The NCAA selection committee basically hoses them on where they seed them and then the pollsters throw them a long over due bone with a 24th ranking.Just go out to Eugene and play their Bison brand of ball and just win baby!!

Sweet! The exposure difference between actually being ranked #24 and receiving votes like they have been (technically, #26).................... is priceless for the program!

This is great for the program, the players, coaches and NDSU. Just another thing keeping us in the spotlight. Go out and win this regional ladies.

What a great accomplishment by the team. Only going to help recruiting and soon this team will get into a super regional.
