This is a very important series. We need to distance ourselves from SDSU and create as much separation with the "middle of the pack" teams as we can. IUPUI is having a strong year and they are in Fargo just before the conference tournament. This could end up being a two team race to regionals. This is a very strong Bison team this year. As of today the forecast looks good....hope to see a big crowd for all three games. BTW...I will be there!

So noticing in the videos that they're not using "aluminum" bats, has this been the case for awhile? Looked up on the NCAA allowable bats list seems they're likely composite? Had heard of them but never have seen them used before, I don't think? Never have been to NDSU softball game yet :hide: so wouldn't know? Guess I've used aluminum and very long time ago wood, for most of my softball playing.

They have been using composite bats for a while now in college and high school on down.These bats now days have an incredible pop to them.The Louiville Slugger Zeno and LXT bats that NDSU is using are prolly the hottest bat on the market.They will set you back $250-300 depending where you shop.

Aluminum bats are long gone. Composite bats have taken over. I helps a 19 year old NDSU softball player to helping a 50 year old beer league player.

Interesting never used a composite bat, of course haven't played softball for about 6-8 years now either as just don't have time. So are they solid material like wood bat or is it hollowish like aluminum?

Louisville uses high strength graphite fibers kinda like carbon fiber.The bat is a 2 piece design with the handle area being more solid and the barrel being thinner wall.They actually recomend braking them in.After a few hours in the batting cage they even get more pop.
