He gives alot of credit and desevidly so to president Chapman. Comments about the president of the university are hilarious, you can read between the lines about his comments on the president of a university that has stood up and taken the arrows and led his university through the transition. I just have to laugh and am dam glad we have chapman and not some other president leading our university.

They said the only one that had doubts about NDSU were the current coaches of the Mid-Con. They know NDSU will be tough to beat.

They just made comments about being cold in Fargo. They brought blankets with Mid-Con on them.

I thought Dr. Chapman's comments and thank yous to all of the partners summed up why NDSU has experienced a successfull DI transition. Without the support and committment of many individuals and programs on and off campus, we may not have made it. This will be a good lesson for any other institutions that are looking to move to DI. Congratulations NDSU.

I met Tom today, what a great guy, he mentioned flying over Ottertail/Pelican Lakes today and how gorgeous it looked and said "people don't understand that NDSU is just not Fargo, but the lakesarea of western minnesota"

So you will be eligible in all sports for autobid starting in 2008-2009 (volleyball right away), when your transition is done, correct? *You have to be done with your transition in order to get in an NCAA tournament, with certain sports getting waivers.

My FR year, Oakland was new to the league, when they won the regular season championship in men's basketball to stop our 6+ year run of winning it, but were not able to participate in the Mid-Con tournament. *We ended up being the 1 seed and winning the tournament because they had one year left.

* * * * * * * * Volleyball is eligible for regular season championship and the conference autobid
* * * * * * * * M/W X-country, M/W Indoor Track are eligible for all regular season championships
* * * * * * * * M/W Outdoor Track, M/W Golf may compete in the conference tourney, but cannot get autobid
* * * * * * * * M/W Basketball, Baseball, Softball, W Soccer not conference tourney eligible
2008-09 * Eligible for all tournaments and autobids

I talked to Tim Miles at the press conference. I am quite certain that his feet were NOT touching the floor ;D He was pretty happy about instantly having 18 games scheduled for the 07-08 season!
