This is a pretty good, and accurate article about the game last night.
Bison went from playing really good to really bad and back all night.

There was some great examples of the differences between Walseth
and Dehoff.

Prime examples were all night long Walseth when she changed players she would
go and talk to the player being replaced, explaining sometimes good sometimes not.

One player got verbal with the official, and was replaced. The player tried to go to the bench
and Coach Walseth twice blocked her path, and we thought was probably explaining to the player
that she should not be confronting the official.

The other time was when the Bison had mostly new players on the court, Coach called time out and
moved out away from the bench and said right here to the players on the court. They did a short
conference, and them moved to the bench. It again looked like she was explaining clearly what she
needed those on the court to be doing, teaching coaching.

Lots of positives, lots of negatives.

I hate it when they schedule games during work hours on weekdays.

Team lacks depth, talented depth, a result from dehoff recruiting. This was a blowout early, lemar goes to the bench for three minutes, and this team from po0dunk canada makes a game of it.

There is clearly a difference in the flow of the games compared to last year. We are now pushing the ball up court as Walseth promised. The players are playing with much more enthusiasm and effort than last year. We might not end up with a great record at the end of the season, but at least the games are entertaining to watch. Last year we saw way too many lost causes early in the games. Add the fact that most of the players are the same as last year shows what a little coaching can do.

Coach W and the assistants have this moving in the right direction. The effort and drive to play hard for her is there and the players are working hard. Most people judge the success of a season solely on wins and losses. I get that. I always try and see if the team from the first game to the last game improved. I like the fact when players are subbed for that someone talks to them. Let the play know right away good or bad how they are doing and what needs to be done. Doing it the next day at practice is sometime a better late than never adjustment. Make the adjustment/correction right away. If the player has a good basketball IQ they will understand. Things are getting brighter for womens basketball at NDSU. Go Herd.
