Just watched Knutson take on the HWT from Virginia Tech. Not sure if wrestlebacks or what.

He lost 4-3 in the 3rd OT

That was a quarterfinal.

Zillmer and Rodriguez are in the semis. Knutson and Petersen are still alive in consolation. Zillmer's opponent is #2 in the country, at least according to Intermat.

Didn't get how Knutson was wrestling in that match. I don't remember a shot.

Knutson has lost to Walz twice earlier this year 3-2 each match. Maybe the 4th time will be the charm in NCAAs :)

Knutson get's Bosch from Edinboro next, should be a Win.
The next two guys have their work cut out for them.
Rodriguez gets Dance in the Semis whom he's lost to 6-3 and 4-2.
Zillmer gets Thomas Lorenzo who is ranked #2 in the country.

Zilmer loses 7-5 but wrestled really well. Stalling calls continue to baffle me (didn't affect the match though). I could easily see him getting All America.

I think Rodriguez and Knutson still lost to unranked guys and never beat anyone ranked ahead of them so I'd expect them to drop in the rankings this week. Hopefully the guys can get things turned around, seems to be a downward spiral after the high hopes I had earlier this year.

I was hoping for a bigger boost from the #4 recruiting class, but I think I was expecting things too soon. Now I think it will take another year or two, but eventually those guys will be tough. Petersen and Ream both did better than what I had anticipated. I thought Zillmer looked pretty good. He had some really good single leg attempts against Lorenzo Thomas, and I don't think many other guys could counter them as well as he did. Against Brooks he gave up a take down with 4 seconds left in one of the periods, otherwise things might have turned out differently. Our other ranked guys all had a rough outing.
