In past years where did they have it? Was it outside?

First year was indoors too small. Last two years have been at Dr Pepper field.

I think the ticket price for youth was $10 for ages 3-12 so I would be guessing no ticket needed for under 3.

I know a lot of work goes into planning pepfest, but it is boring, packed and beer lines are ridiculous. Stay at 3rd base (i guess it's called Wild Pitch now) and wait for the people to come back and tell you they should have never left like you told them.

Parking's probably going to be a bitch. I'm not going but about the only place to park is a garage that's a walk away (not a long walk). Get there early. Nice arena but I think Dr. Pepper is a better venue because there's not a lot of room for lines.

If they want the pepfest to work...

#1 Have the people at the door taking tickets immediately hand out two beers each as people walk through the door.

#2 Don't run out of beer

I don't plan on going. Stood in line for drinks last year because we paid for them when we bought the tics. Missed everything and then when I got to the bar. Ran out.
Loved this done in ft Collins. But this has no band. I don't need to pay 15.00 plus to see thundar and cheer team.
Sherri and I had a talk about this, but alas she is gone.

Yeah. This isn't rocket science.

Whats killed me is how much money Dr. Pepper Field lost with slow service or lack of goods.

The average fan would drink six beers or drinks if fast. Instead they probably sell two or three. That's 100k lost.

I wanna check out some of the bars near event center but do not plan to attend pep fest.

Planning on throwing an unofficial pep fest in the parking lot next to Ringos/Scruffy Duffys. I have dreamt of a party in that lot since year one. I think the owner is finally on board. He is meeting with property owners today and city council this week. hope it works out

I could not figure out the drop off in quality from year 1 and Dr. Pepper, to year 2. Year 1, they had enough servers and lines were not bad. They actually had good beer stands out on the concourses. Plus, the programming was much better with Bentrim and other former stars speaking. Then last year, they half the number of beer lines, and the speakers were not good. Really, really stunk.

Not sure what to do this year. Since with kids, I'll probably go, but I hope the quality is a lot better with easy beer access. With Sherri gone, I am doubtful.

I agree with that, but see zero indication we are getting anything for free for this deal. Further, I just mapped it; it is 12 miles from Dr. Pepper ballpark; a little closer from the actual stadium. Not super convenient. I did buy, but starting to wonder if I was dumb in doing so. Maybe if it sells out, I can sell my tickets.

I know of ppl who went last year (without kids) and they had a great time! Saw a ton of Bison fans, visited with many of them, & they really enjoyed it. Heck, many of us went to Ndsu's homecoming parade to see the band/cheerleaders/floats & way too many politicians. If I've gone all the way to Frisco for a possible Bison 4-Peat... I'll spend the $15. & ck out the "New Venue" for the Pep Fest! Glad they are trying something different, & I hope it wks well!

This describes wife and I to a tee!

Having only been able to attend the one Championship, last year(cant go this year), we had an absolute blast at the pep-rally as well as at everything. For me seeing the former Bison players, and me taking pics of a few that are friends so I could post them immediately to facebook, then also just visiting with tons of friends before during and after the rally!!

Thanks Fanette....again!!

We attended Pepfest last year, and the best part was the fireworks. The program itself seemed a little slow. LOVED 32 Below, hopefully they will be back again this year.

I wish they had more info out there about what kind of activities they will have there, maybe it is early.

We went to the pep rally in Iowa State, and other than the ProSeed hats, it was a bust. Picked up some NDSU swag, but audio setup was horrible, couldn't hear a thing, and no lighting on the speaker.

Would love it if they could bring in some players currently playing, or that have played in the NFL to talk about what playing at NDSU meant to them and helped them get where they are. If not in person, by video or something.

I will probably go to the pep fest so I can meet others I will likely not see at the bars, tailgate and game. Sad to say I am not expecting much with the pep fest program since the mass departure of Alumni Association employees. Really sucks since you expect things to get bigger and better each year. I wonder why the switch from Dr Pepper Park? How will this smaller indoor venue be better? Will they have more drink stations and/or less expensive drinks? Any free stuff? Interesting speakers or entertainment? I think if this event is a fail all Alumni need to voice their dissappointment.......and the blame should go to the brilliant head of the Alumni Association that for some reason still has his job.

There is no way that this change in venue could be better than last year (which wouldn't be hard as it was very bad). Those outdoor stadiums were designed for heavy people traffic and selling confessions...not a hotel. It's going to be just as big as a mess, if not more. Then again, they won't have as many people as were there last year most likely. So who knows.

WHY would you go to a smaller venue considering the past turn outs?

1 of 2 reasons:

1. Complete chaos at the alumni association
2. The venue promised 100 employees specifically tasked with handing out beers

Base on past experience, I am betting on #1....

Not getting ANYTHING for free based on what they are charging is also very bad form in my book. Just wait, we show up, and it will be $10 a beer for domestic swill.

Well, first they have a quilting party.

Then, that evening, they do each others hair. (No, Izzy, that does not mean what you think it means...)

Then, in the morning, it is tea with some cookies, and go watch the game.

Then, when it is over, they thank us for buying all the tickets sparing most fans from the bloodbath.

What a great lot of fans they are.

Dr pepper stadium would be the greatest if, 1. we could use the field to mingle and spread out a bit. 2. the beer was as cold as the outside air temp and the hotdogs were warmer. 3. They had some kind of real entertainment. 4. Continue with the fireworks.

They've been getting over 9000, why are they planning for 8500? Would it hurt to plan on 12,000 and only get 11,000? I too would like to know why the chairman hasn't been asked to step aside.

On the other hand, can you imagine them telling 9,000 to meet in the hotel bar?

I vaguely remember that last year, after the game, the alumni association sent out an e-mail asking those who attended to fill out a survey on what they would like to see at a future event. I would assume that there were a lot of comments from attendees on the event. However, hard to know what they said and how they were used in setting this year's event up.

They basically said they didn't want comments about the long beer lines, that was pretty funny

Another thing to consider is that the indoor venue will actually be an active venue, meaning it will be in active use before and after our event. Staffing, food supplies, etc., should be more consistent which would suggest higher quality. Not sure about the ballpark but you get the feeling that it wasn't used much if at all in the "winter".

Keep in mind that DFW isn't all sunshine and daisies in early January. It's been a gamble to have it outside the last couple years with the potential for even colder weather than we had or frozen/mixed precip.

I'm fine with paying $15 to go, if I get there and it's "meh" I'll make an appearance and leave. Spending $15 on it won't be the worst thing I'll spend my money on down there I'll bet. I'll have plenty of time Thursday night, earlier on Friday, after the pep fest on Friday, and after the game Saturday to hit the traditional "hot spots" and the pep fest gives me an excuse to check out a different part of the metroplex that I haven't seen in the last 3 years.

Several years ago when I was in Frisco I was able to attend the pep fest thought it was fun.
Not going this year and see is 20 minutes from Frisco on the tollway, 26 minutes on the free roads just farther to drive.

I think indoors will resolve any cold complaints, and the lines well it will be what it is.
I am not going this year, maybe next year!!!!!

Anybody hear if they have even surpassed 3000 in ticket sales for this event yet? Doubt there will be 5000 in attendance (about half of past years). Thanks to the wreck that is now the Alumni Association, and the stupid idea to move to an indoor venue far away from everyone this will be a FAIL compared to past years. Nice undetermined agenda for the pepfest too.

http://www.ndsualumni.com/2015/championshipfridayevents Counter says 3,719 tickets sold as ofa few moments ago. If I remember correctly this doesn't update real frequently. Sad to say I am really questioning if its worth it to go to this event. I wanted it to be something special, bigger, more fun, etc., but it is obvious not much was done to make it so. And still don't see enough specifics on the agenda to make it worthwhile. Knowing this event is lacking they could at least assure the giveaway stuff was available to most if not all attending (a button for first 1000 that get there is pathetic). How about a free drink? Maybe get a famous guest speaker worthy of a national championship and attempt at a 4 peat.

In iowa I didn't get a hat.it didn't disappoint me too much but if you buy a ticket- have enough. Plus they most likely will hold back buttons to give out at tailgate town. For free. I go to every single pep fest/bison nation gathering I can. It is a great chance to socialize with fans from all over the nation. In Iowa we randomly sat at a table and it turned out to be Nick Deluca's parents and relatives. Spending the evening at their table was great. The next day during half time we ran into his parents and visited about how he was getting into the game during kicks. Besides going to support the effort the opportunities they create are amazing. We will be there this year and every other time. To each their own I guess. At least we can all agree on attending the game!

So how long does the "Bison Nation Celebration" last? This is my first time going to Frisco and not sure what to do. I fly into DFW around 530, by the time get rental car, get to hotel, etc, was planning on going to Scruffy Duffies and Ringo's party. I am worried either one or the other may be at capacity and I will be screwed if I go to the alumni thing and try to do Duffies and Ringos later.

Thoughts?
