It is stories like this that make it so easy to cheer even harder for these guys. Great to know that the NDSU football program is not just building great football players, but building great men. BISON PRIDE at it's best!!

Definitely got the waterworks going for me. So much respect and admiration for both Esley and Ricky.

Thanks for posting this story. Kudos to Esley and everyone in the football program.

P.S. I'm glad the kid finally got a haircut.

Great story. Hope Ricky recovers. Nice to see athletes use their visibility in a positive way. Good character guy.

Esley is such a good guy. He coached my son in summer baseball 2 1/2 years ago now and my son had a blast learning baseball from one of his heroes. He had no idea who Esley was in the beginning but after I told him who Esley was, he has been one of my son's favorite players. The thing that amazes me the most is Esley has seen him only a couple times since that year of summer ball and when we went through the autograph line, Esley was asking him questions about ball like he coached him last week.

Damn you bridog...now I have to hide in my office for a few minutes because there is something wrong with my eyes.

Ricky is tougher than I will ever be, and so are his parents. I hope he wins the battle.

Thanks for sharing. Ricky is my nephew and it is absolutely great to see everyone supporting him. He is a tough kid and on the road to beating cancer. NDSU Athletics has been overwhelmingly wonderful to Ricky. #HailtheBison
