I don't know. Students always seem to whine about anything athletics related.

I'm pretty sure when I was in school I was forced to buy entry into every sporting event.

Maryland, who's in the conference now and in the same boat where demand is higher for a sport other than football, has a loyalty program for students. The more events you attend across the athletic department the higher priority you have for tickets. For many events there are more student seats than there is demand so its no problem, but you can't just show up once a year and expect to get a ticket for the Duke game. The tickets are all electronic so you can't just buy them and not show up. If you don't post you don't get the loyalty points. Then, I think, at the end if you join the booster club, your points get converted into their system.
