I read this on reddit and was very confused. Is it a legit concern or conspiracy theory.

I'm leaning on them being fake, pretty much a money making scheme for whoever runs the school/team.

Just think if a player on their team had a serious injury. Doubt this team has the proper insurance, they didn't even have a trainer for the Davidson game.
