Stopped by today and last week, put a couple pics up on fbook. Not much to report! Media can't stay past 5-10 minutes and No injuries is all that matters. Polosak is a blast, loud and motivating. Coach K is running around in huddle and coaching up players individually, bohl was a CEO at the end unlike Klieman.

Beck & Littlejohn look like absolute BEASTS!

I thought for sure Woods would be a starter from what I saw of him last year. Plus we still have Moody, Gray, Warren and Wrice. Really disappointing if we have to pull 2 RS off recievers.

coloradobison
08-12-2014, 06:25 PM
Someone will have to step up. Have to assume that Vraa will get the bulk of the attention all year so there should be ample opportunity opposite him. Gebhart has been a steady receiver over the years. We saw some from Woods last year but clearly they want more. I don't think any of us know what we have in Gray, Frandsen, Warren or Wrice.

Allison is a CB (as reference for WR discussion)

Rarely at a WR position though. WR is just one of those positions that rookies do not fair well at very often. It seems to be the case a all levels. So much timing, skills, reads and getting on the same page as the Qb's in a new system to accomplish in a short camp. This has to be at least a yellow flag if not a red flag for the upcoming season. It seems there is work to do and some better get to doing it.

Well, there is also this thing called "injury" and we sure as hell seem to have a lot of that with our starting WR's over the last several years. Seemed like every game one of them was hurt, had a hammy or whatever, so if the potential (think skills) is there with the incoming guys, and the concern is there with those returning, I can certainly see why the RS's may get pulled. Give the incomers fall camp and a few more weeks into the season and the timing and reads will be there--we don't have a real complex passing game ya know? The result?! DEPTH at the WR position and less worry about when (not if) one of the so-called starters goes down in practice or during a game.

True but no reason to say they are going to be pulled already just because of a potential injury. I just hope that if they do get pulled they get used in games more than both Olson and Smith did 4 years ago.

Say it all you want, but if they aren't healthy (which has been a reoccuring theme with them over the years they have been here) they can't and wont be "starters" if they can't play-->consequently, if we can build depth and perhaps rotate more, we won't have as much of a fall-off.

I'm pretty sure I know who you are, but the truth is the truth. Gebhart has not been as reliable of receiver over the years as the coaches would like because of his "reputation (perception?)" for being hurt a lot and not being able to play consistently. I believe personally that is why Brock did not through to him as much last year. If you can't count on someone being there week in and week out, and you get used to and comfortable with other receivers, who will the QB look for and go to more often?! Not to mention more practice reps with "healthy" recievers.

Interesting how some players are hurt often and others seem bullet proof. Don't think it necessarily has anything to do with toughness either.

I don't disagree, but he was in years prior--hence my reference as to why Brock didn't go to him much last year even though he played and was likely open more than he was thrown to. I hope he stays healthy this year and has a 1000 yard year, I really do.

Bit of a suprise but encouraging. Kids fast obviously since he was playing in the secondary and by the looks of his special teams play last year he hits like a tank

I suppose PGT missed spring ball with an injury after getting hurt last year so he's probably playing catch up. Next year I am feeling confident about the linebackers

Only so many people are allowed to be on the sidelines (especially on the road) and I can't imagine they are going to waste a spot on who will hopefully be 4th string QB. At least for this year.

Do any of our coaches talk to Billy Turner, Marcus Williams, Bryan Shepard, Craig Dahl, Ramon Humber, Matt Veldman and other Bison's in NFL to find out what new techniques they are learning which was not taught here in NDSU and try and incorporate that during the practice drills so that the new kids are better than where we were few years ago...just a thought ?

Just because your to old to text? :) or is there something to the rumors they have yet to figure that out in Arkansas

Pro tip:
You'll have to put that into Morse code if you want it to cross the Arkansas state line.

Reported tonight also on the 6PM sports. Not sure if this will change the planned rotation for Iowa State.

Beck would need an amputation not to play in this game, chase says he will play. But personally this is a Crockett/Frazier game. Frazier wants to show the big 12 what they are missing

I hope King and the other guys are out there to win. Period. Personal performances aside. This is a team game and one big reason I love Bison football. Say no to the prima donna.

Was there a scrimmage on Saturday? If not, why? If so, where is the media coverage (I know they must be tired of being shut out for live shots) Still need an update on how things are progressing. Did Wentz do well? How are lines coming along, receivers, RB's, etc.? No injuries? I assume this week is normal game week planning. What kind of cyclone offense will the defense be preparing for to stop the Man-gina?

Even if no scrimmage this past weekend what is going on in preparation for next weeks game? Everybody looking good, no nagging injuries, etc.?

Haven't you herd about "the game"? Duh why would anyone care what the 3 time defending champions are going to do this year with such an epic game in store for next year. The media reports what is important. Nobody cares about this season didn't you notice how awesome ewu looked yesterday this Bison team doesn't stand a chance I just hope they can squeak out a field goal against a mighty big 12 school next weekend. Going to be lucky to win one game all season with all the big sky teams on the schedule. (Purple font)

(Purple font) Watching that game yesterday I lol'ed how both teams apparently don't practice to improve their defense. Poor coverage, poor tackling, poor gap control. I am starting to believe they let each other score so they can do more end zone celebrations. No way a flag doesn't get dropped in MVFC for excessive celebration after most of that crap yesterday. Bunch of undisciplined and selfish players at SHSU and EWU. All sorts of penalties and sloppy play.

This. Plus the time the official stopped play and warned EW to stop playing loud music when SHSU was on offense. Again, typical big fluff bush league.

There was a pushing match after almost every play. As you mention no discipline.

This is the quietest it's ever been on the verge of a game. I think much of that has to do with Klieman who seems to actually coach the players instead of spending time on radio. You can tell he's focused on the game and not other bullshit. I respect that. (Even the UN_ press conference seemed to annoy him)

What's most disappointing is the marketing department. A week before the season and they haven't even put out a promo or hype video. Pathetic. Obviously the interim AD has zero leadership skills and nobody on staff has any interest in picking up the slack. Total complacency

With all tickets being sold out before noon, losing our video guy, and coming off a 3peat, what promo do you want? They have the gold rush games, code green games and alternating games all planned already. New jerseys that they're promoting. The entire Bison Pride promotion project. It's not like they've been sitting on their hands. An AD wouldn't change anything.

As far as camp news is concerned, Kleiman obviously runs a tight ship. This is the Monday before the game so there will be a presser. We'll find out everything we want to know I'm sure including a final depth chart.

Hype videos and branding commercials like we ran the last 2 years. Still need to promote the team despite sellouts IMO

Pretty sure last year they had a camera follow Ryan Smith and Marcus Williams around for a day and put it up on website. I'm sure nobody would watch if they did that with Dudzik or Heagle, or Vraa. They also announced last weeks scrimmage on website but then never followed up with any report at all besides a stupid press conference about nothing but a pickup game for next year. Just saying I expected more. I also remember a build up promo last year for the kstate game. Guess what NDSU still needs to recruit kids and keep the brand out there. They did do the Bison pride thing but haven't seen a follow up on that either. This time of the year Bison football should be front and center on the website.

They keep pulling it from YouTube due to creative license violations or some other bullshit excuse for being embarrassed about it.

I have a copy of it if anyone wants to upload it again.
