Walker, IMHO, will go down as the best QB NDSU has had since I have been a fan.

Disreguarding numbers, impact, and championships, it is because of Walker why the transition into a bigger venue with better competition has gone the way it has.

Obviously the Bentrim's and Simdorn's will be the greatest for what they did for the school, but with all due respect they were option QB's, and in this day and age of college football the option just isn't what it once was.

I'll take nothing away from either one of them, especially considering Bentrim is one of the best QB's ever in D2 and there's no arguing what his accomplishments were.

I'll say this, considering it's only been a little over 10 years since the option has departed, Walker will finish a better QB then Feeney.

I've slaughtered my argumnent for Walker completely. :-? But he has been monumental in the transition to D1AA, and having his name in the Payton Award running only adds more positive exposure for NDSU. That's what I should have said in the first place, and left it at that.

Agreed, the thing that Walker does have that is reminecent of the other two QB's you compare with is the it factor. Especially Bentrim. There is nothing that compares to the it factor and he's go it.

Not that it is necessarily that impressive of a record to break because of all of the "option" years, but does anyone know how many passing yards Walker needs to be all time leading passer? If I remember correctly, I was thinking he would have a chance to break it this year.

Walker's stats
04' 05' 06'
47/60 705yrd 10TD 0 INT 136/245 1781 14TD 7 INT Through 5 games: 92/138 1142yrd 8TD 1 INT

career totals to date
3628 yards
32 TD
8 INT
