Reason #57 to get out of FCS what a complete joke. I thought respect was earned? 3 year dynasty isn't earning respect?

Isn't TSN a hockey only thing what in the hell do they know about football

Lol.

Dudzik could be on that list twice for PR & safety.

Crockett or vraa being left off is a shame. Oh well.

Meh, preseason individual accolades are the ultimate beauty contest. Let EWU be the prettiest girl in the preseason. I get a little devilish grin on my face to see no NDSU guys on the first team. I was almost disappointed to see Heagle and Littlejohn as 2nd and 3rd teamers... that would've really elicited an evil belly laugh if the Bison didn't have any 1st, 2nd, or 3rd teamers. I think it really keeps these guys hungry to hear all the pundits talk about who's no longer here moreso than who's still here.

I think things will be much different in the postseason. Provided they stay healthy Emmanuel, Littlejohn, Beck, Dudzik, and Heagle could all draw postseason All-America consideration on defense. Vraa and Haeg could do the same offensively (probably not Crockett just because he'll split too many carries with Morlock and Frazier).

I've never even heard of half of these colleges on this list. Of course you can put up godly numbers vs a horrible conference schedule and call yourself "good".

Man I can't wait until a program like ndsu doesn't have to associate themselves with such pud. They deserve way better

Can't keep having this FBS stuff spilling over into non-related threads.

So I've removed two posts and, in the future, please post these thoughts in the FBS thread.

Perhaps this will serve as inspiration. I myself have great respect for Beck and Heagle. Those who have been hit by them must also.

You need to either go away or shut your yap for a few months. I enjoyed this board much more during your absence. Even when I agree with you on a topic, I can't stand your mode of operation and delivery. There is a reason you were banned from this board, and it's becoming obvious once again. Your methods are toxic.

Watch out for the studs in the ovc! The southern conference will make tons of stars because the competition they face is complete shit

I don't get to upset about these things. It is all about the numbers for these and we don't play for individual numbers, it is about the team and the outcome at the end. If you want to put up insane numbers and get individual accolades NDSU is not the place for you. If you want to win and become a CHAMPION as a team NDSU is the place for you.

It will always be tough for our players to make these lists as we rotate so many players. D-line, RB heck even WR and LB we rotate more than other teams do. About the only positions we don't rotate are O-line, QB and specialists.

It is just not worth getting worked up over as the numbers don't look eye popping but we all know the results on the field are completely different.

Can't wait to watch Heagle lower the BOOM on Iowa States stud TE. Dude takes out tight ends coming across the middle like a guided missile.

NDSU: Not so good at preseason awards, but better than anybody at postseason awards. And that's the way I like it.

The past has proved that this TEAM is about TEAM recognition and not individual accolades. Adams can get all the recognition that he wants. He still hasn't accomplished crap. Look at what the TEAM has accomplished. Kids don't come to NDSU to win individual awards, they come to win National Championships, and you can't win one of those by yourself it takes every man in uniform, next man up.

Preseason polls, especially those that are made before practice even starts are mostly about what is remembered about returning players from their performance during the previous year. Obviously, it can't say much about players who are stepping into the roles of departing players because not much has been seen from them, especially by those outside the practices.

Two UNI players on the first team. Just saying.

For the record, I already discounted the value of pre-season polls in an earlier post. Pre-season polls are usually just acknowledgment of really good players who are returning, not truly the best because no one has seen many of the rising players in starting roles (or even with the 1s in practice).

That's what a lack of depth will get you. Some players with really impressive stats, and a spectators ticket to the playoffs.

I understand it's preseason and all but it's fun to pick it apart. EWU - 5 players. NDSU - 3 players.

Quincy Forte - EWU - 2012 - 597 yards
2013 - 11 TD's, 6.7 yards a carry, 1208 yards

John Crockett - NDSU - 2012 - 1038 yards
2013 - 11 TD's, 6.7 yards a carry, 1277 yards

So, lack of depth gets UNI pre-season All-Americans, huh? Does this also explain why NDSU had 3 pre-season first-team All-Americans in 2013?

[Wow, I never could have imagined being able to use something like your pre-season All-Americans against you, but you set the table for it. :innocent:]

Cowboys haven't done shit other than win the off/pre season the past few years. Meanwhile the Steelers win without preseason hype.

And yet another useless list: http://www.ncaa.com/news/football/article/2014-07-08/south-dakota-state-rb-zach-zenner-headlines-2014-payton-watch-list

Mr Zenner leads the list. No where do they credit him for the now standard unit of measurement 'the Zenner'.
Shame. That's one of his crowning football achievements. Better him than someone in another league though...
