This article isn't saying that, but it does go to prove he isn't the smartest person in Miami.

Slick- Never met him. Was at the US Junior at Boon Valley, just outside of St. Louis when he won his first of two US Junior's when he was 15. Last stud I was an official with was Rickie Fowler in 2005 at Long Meadow in Springfield, MA. Great kid just coming off winning the Western Junior. Officially got off the committee a couple of years ago, however I still run some qualifiers. Sorry for the drift guys. MWill has to be disappointed.

The Bears signed their 3rd round pick, Will Sutton who was drafted number 82 overall. Billy was drafted at 67 in the 3rd round, so I believe his contract will be better than what Sutton signed for. Sutton's numbers for a 4 year deal are as follows:

Will Sutton, third round
$586,068 signing bonus

$3,115,844 total value

$568,068 total guarantee

Bennie Logan was the 67th pick last year and he signed for less than Sutton. Must have something to do with the salary cap.

Bennie Logan signed a 4 year / $3.03 million contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, including a $684,092 signing bonus, $684,092 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $758,108.

Well, it will be interesting. There are experienced players on the Dolphin roster. They have three OG with 3-7 years of experience (David Arkin from Missouri State being one of them) and two tackles with 5-7 years of experience, one G/T with two years of experience, plus six rookies. So, assuming the vets have learned something, my guess is Billy won't start right away so he can get his legs under him, so to speak. But my guess is he will be a starter relatively soon since he is such a talent.

Turner always seems to be in the right spot at the right time. I don't recall a Fr lineman with his ability. I predict that when he ends his bison career . . .

1) He will be an all-american and could run for Mayor
2) He will get drafted

Thanks for sharing this video. One thing that everyone knew last year was that Billy is a top-notch player with a ton of Pro potential. What only NDSU fans knew, was that Billy has a ton of personality and a very genuine person. He represented NDSU as best as possible, and now he will represent Miami better than anyone!

http://footballsavages.com/2014/06/28/ranking-all-32-offensive-line/

Starters: Branden Albert, Dallas Thomas, Mike Pouncey, Shelley Smith, Ja’Waun James

Contributors: Billy Turner, Tyler Larsen

The Dolphins offensive line was the talk of league last year, for a lot of the wrong reasons. They made some major upgrades for 2014 including their big free agent splash Branden Albert. Albert is a consistently above average performer if he can stay healthy. I loved what they did in the draft by taking Billy Turner and Ja’Waun James. James should start right away and Turner won’t be far behind. Billy Turner is Sean Taylor trapped in an offensive lineman’s body.

Some positive comments on Billy Turner

Billy Turner flipped sides today, working on the both sides of the offensive line and getting a couple more first team reps than usual.

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/sfl-practice-report-live-updates-from-dolphins-training-camp-20140727,0,2744868,full.story

-- When assessing rookie offensive tackle Billy Turner, Joe Philbin acknowledged that he's far ahead of where he was during OTAs earlier this summer. Turner continues to work as Daryn Colledge's backup, but he got some reps with the starters on Sunday.

"I think he’s far ahead of where he was in the OTAs, but there’s still a lot of work to be done. He’s an athlete. He has good movement skill. I think he’s one that really needs to learn the concept of leverage, especially when you go inside. I think it becomes even more of a critical factor," Philbin said of Turner.

After reading several reports from Dolphin-land, it sounds like Billy is going to have to show some flash during training camp in order to get the starting nod. This report seems representative:

This seems odd as hell. They moved him to LT, and he certainly didn't play well. However, that's almost like getting a promotion and then getting fired. Just move him back to guard. I would expect someone to pick him up.

Wow... giving up a 3rd round pick before his 3rd season is even over seems a little extreme. That said the Dolphins are horrible and they probably needed to shake something up.

I know of a certain NFL team that happens to be undefeated that could use some OL help...

My thoughts exactly. He still had another whole year next year on his rookie deal, which is below average for a starting guard. The silver lining is whoever picks him up might have some competition and maybe Billy gets a little more money.

Eagles definitely should be giving his agent a call.

I honestly think him going to the Dolphins was bad for him altogether. Unstable organization right now and he forced to play out of position as a young developmental player.

May be a blessing in disguise.

Also Lane Johnson just got suspended for 10 games this season for the Eagles. So there is a spot in the Eagles organization.

This is really weird. Their 1st round starter can't go for an illness. You're first round LG can't move over to that position because he fell in the shower, and for some odd reason they didn't want to move their 1st round RT to the blind spot. They put their 3rd round pick who's mainly only started at guard out there and he struggles. What in the hell did they expect?

BTW, thanks lakes for the red chicklet.

Lets be realistic. Billy hasnt been tearing it up the last three years. Hes had opportunities to take over the starting position but really hasnt been able to lock it down. Granted cutting him after moving him to Lt Tackle is a BS move but it also shows the thin line Billy was walking.

He's a third round pick. Realistic expectations drafting in that round is a solid back up. Which, IMO, he is. He can spot start at either guard and look decent. Spot starting at LT. Again, what did they expect? They've literally cut all their back up lineman, minus the backup centers. They even sent the practice squad guy walking. It seems they want to shake things up and axing one of their 4 1st round picks isn't an option, so.

As long as Billy gets on elsewhere, this could be a positive thing. The Eagles are/should be a serious option with Lane's suspension they are moving their LG to RT. At least bring Billy in to compete. They obviously have the roster spot and cap room.

Hasn't he had a different Oline coach/scheme each year he's been there, was injured most of his rookie year at least, and been shuffled around quite a bit? With all of that, and them putting him in the position he was in on Sunday and than cutting him for it, I think this could be the best thing to happen to him.

Looking through twitter I see a lot of Dolphin fans happy about it because of what happened Sunday with him at LT, but I also see a lot upset because they consider him the only O lineman on the roster who can run block. I also see multiple people pointing to both the Eagles and Vikes just like we are here so it will be interesting to see where he does land.

The O-Line for some odd reason is getting worse each game. First two games, they were good blocking for both the run and pass. Third and fourth games, they couldn't block for the run, but protected the QB extremely well minus that time Siemian got thrown to the ground like a rag doll. Fourth and fifth games, they couldn't block the sun on clear day.

Paxton Lynch threw the rhythm off a little when he came in if I must make excuses...also Sambrailo filling in for Stephenson didn't help especially when he was playing injured, then Stephenson coming back against Chargers playing like a rookie, must have been getting acclimated to the game again...

Question, what is going on with the fargo kid Connor McGovern?

He has been with the #1 OL for much of camp because the presumed started at RG, Leary has been dinged up and they have been holding him out. I've heard nothing but good things about how he has done in camp thus far, including how he looked in person to me last weekend (through my green and gold glasses). I'd say he has a decent chance of making this team.

I think McGovern is all but a lock to make the team at this point. He has taken almost every single first team snap at center while Paradis is recovering.

Both are listed as the #2 in their respective spots on the first depth chart coming out today. (http://www.denverpost.com/2017/08/07/broncos-preseason-depth-chart/)

Broncos’ offense had way more bigger issues than Billy getting beat a few times by a potential HOFer. The main issue is our QB looks like a combo of Cutler and Orton. Stared down one receiver just about on every pass play (Cutler) and showed little intensity executing plays and leading the team (Orton).

Thankfully we have cheerleaders.

I expect him to play a lot, especially with Jared Veldheer's reputation of being hurt often. Billy did well last year too, but kind of only gets remembered for the back to back plays against the Giants when he held JPP and then gave up a sack to him. What is forgotten is that during those plays, I think, he broke his hand.

Looking forward to seeing him, and hopefully C.J. Smith, in Broncos uniforms. It's going to be a fun year being Broncos fan after two miserable ones with finally having an effective offense. After listening to 104.3 TheFan everyday, it sounds like the offense is beating the heck out of the defense. Humorously, the phrase that keeps getting mention during Broncos Preseason Practice is "GATA."

Well...Denver's defense is pretty depleted vs what it was 5 years ago.

I dont know if they have a star at all in the back 7 once you get past von and chubb(unproven rookie)

Chris harris... maybe? Or did he move on

Christopher Moen

Well...Denver's defense is pretty depleted vs what it was 5 years ago.

In the secondary, a bit yes. The front seven, maybe not so much. The rotation of Outside LBs alone is ridiculous with Von Miller, Bradley Chubb, Shane Ray and Shaq Barrett (provided CSU one of its few highlights against NDSU when he sacked Brock). Also, keep an eye on Jeff Holland to make the rotation stronger.

For the DL, you have Derek Wolfe, Domata Peko, Clinton McDonald and DeMarcus Walker (finally back at his natural spot). Adam Gotsis is also "currently" available, but I'm hoping he's off the team due to the rape charges he is facing from his time at Georgia Tech.

The middle linebackers are younger, but still better than what we've had the past few season, especially with additions of Josey Jewell and Su'a Cravens (yes he's a SS, but he'll be dropping down in the LB position quite a bit).

The reason for the offense going "GATA" on the defense has less to do with the defense being "depleted," but rather because of the additions to the team. Since the early part of the 2014 season, the Broncos finally have a QB that can throw the ball to where he actually wants to efficiently and have an OC that is designing the game plan to fit the strengths of the players. Add in stud WRs Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton and TEs Jake Butt and Troy Fumagalli to the receiving corp of Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, and Keenum has some nice weapons to work with. The RB corp is still up in the air, but the three rookies (Royce Freeman, David Williams and Lindsay Phillip) they brought in are going to be a much improved backfield from last year.

We'll see how these guys look in nine days.

"Did not perform particularly well?" What games was Klis watching? No, Billy wasn't an All-Pro by any means, but he was pretty consistent at doing his job, regardless of which spot he filled. Will be glad to see him back in the Orange and Blue, especially with Munchak coaching the O-Line.

Billy Turner

The Broncos continue to talk with the agent of the versatile offensive lineman with hopes of signing Turner back before he hits free agency.

Problem is, other teams are quietly interested. There is a belief Arizona and Minnesota could be among those who express interest in Turner......

......Minnesota recently hired Gary Kubiak and Klint Kubiak to run the Vikings’ offense after they worked the past year in Denver.

This surprises me considering hes really looked at as a backup.

Outside of Matt Paradis, Billy was probably Denver's best Offensive Lineman last year. Yes, he was a back-up and moved around a lot, but he was consistent and maybe average one bad play per game. The rest of the line was, well, not worthy of being considered professionals. After Billy, the next best Offensive Lineman for the Broncos, might have been another back-up - Connor McGovern, who replaced Center, Matt Paradis.

Right now, the Broncos are probably going to lose both Paradis and Turner. I'm guessing Elway and Co. are using their cap room space to go big on defense when free agency opens up next week.

You pretty much made my point. Why would you move on when you really havent had that much success except for with the Broncos? I think if he wouldnt have had the Bronco situation he might have been out of the league.

His agent is looking for the best deal he can get, sounded like MN was interested in him earlier so maybe they can get into a little bidding war with Denver. He needs to make the most from this deal which will probably be his last.
