Do they have prelims or only a final?

Do they have prelims or only a final?

I stand corrected. Looks like they will go by the fastest times since they are on a 6 lane track. I guess they have to run really fast either way. Its just too bad that they can't compete with everyone.

3:36.07 to finish fourth in their heat- doesn't look good for a top 8 finish

Bison come in 4th in their group of 4. 3:36.07; four hundreds of a second behind 3rd place LSU. Leader of the group was SC at 3:33.95.

Second group running now.

Not the finish we wanted but 11th at that level is still a hell of an accomplishment! Will all four run outdoors this season? How much improvement can be expected? Is Goodman a possibility?

Not sure whether all will be back for outdoor but I know that they have thought about trying Goodman but right now she lacks the fitness level necessary to run a good 400. But I think may still be a possibility.

Laura Roesler and the Ducks set a collegiate record at 3:27.40, two hundredths ahead of Texas. Oregon takes both titles.

Roesler also won the 800m title - her first individual national championship. 2:03 and change. Won by almost two seconds. Per the ncca.com website and other news, she was in the pack, slipped from 3rd to 4th on 3rd 200m, so was in 4th as they passed the 200m to go mark, and was boxed in to boot. She then backed off to let the outside runner go by her so she could get to the outside then blistered the last 160m to run away from the field. Not only was the kick impressive, it was her 3rd 800 in about 2:06 or less in two days. Then she ran in the 4x400m less than an hour later, and ran a 52.40 split. Two national championships, and a new collegiate record (4x400). Yes, very impressive. Per the goducks.com website, "Roesler, who earned two All-America honors this weekend, became the most decorated All-American in Oregon track and field history with 15 total honors." Considering all the great T&F athletes who have come out of Oregon, that is one heck of an accomplishment, and the outdoor season remains.

(my complaint of the day: I was pretty damn disappointed with the Forum's coverage on this. No mention of her in the 4x400. Only mention is that she won the 800m. The races were much more interesting than a mere side-show mention, and her accomplishments deserve more than that)

(my 2nd complaint of the day: In addition to saying almost nothing about the NDSU relay team, the Fargo Forum also reported the wrong time. The Forum stated they ran a 3:36.7. I have seen a LOT of incorrect reporting on college track and field by the Forum during the last couple of years. Someone should go talk to those clowns.)

Roesler's split was 51.25 according to flotrack. I timed it myself and got a similar time.

What were the Bison splits?

According to the live results wepages from the meet (accessible from ncaa.com), the splits were 54.52, 53.09, 55.02, 53.46.
Castor Troy mentionedd that Roesler ran faster than the 'live results' showed, so I don't know how reliable these splits are for the Bison runners.
Once again, here is the 'live results' link: http://www.flashresults.com/2014_Meets/indoor/3-14-NCAA/
(don't know how long the link will remain up).

These splits are accurate. You're just looking at the wrong split for Laura. She was the 2nd leg.
