Now that conference tournaments are officially underway I think we should have a thread for this.

Dunk City beat Stetson 77-55 in ASUN Tourney

No idea what happend in Oakland Youngstown game but I bet there will be highlights on ESPN. Oakland was down with 2.3 seconds left. They fouled with 0.4 seconds left. Somehow Bader was fouled on inbounds play, not sure how it happened, just reading off Oaklands twitter. He makes both and now its OT

Was an old school out bounds play and Youngstown state fell for it. Basically the Oakland player inbounding the ball started running the baseline and Bader slipped in and set a screen for the inbounder. Defender ran right through bader resulting in two free throws an no time taken off the clock. Kampe ran the same play once in the summit league.

Not that old school, most teams don't guard the player taking the ball out of bounds because it allows for easier denial of the inbounds pass. I am supprised that more teams don't have this in the play book. When I coached freshmen in Fargo we used this several times. The first two times my player was called for a foul and it cost me a T as well, but after that and some preping of the officials for this play it worked successfully several times, including 3 times in the same game.

Common misconseption with screens. You don't have to be completely set, you just have to be within the frame of your body and not be moving towards the defensive player. The movement you see is his "back foot" the front foot sealing the baseline is there.

I always count before I put the ball in play. Each of my partners should as well...I guess you get greener officials in the NEC because of the number of conferences out there but still. If I'm doing that for a HS game it sure as heck better be second nature for that crew.

It's a lack of concentration. You just hope something like this doesn't happen during that concentration lapse. You could count on 1000s of in bounds plays every season and the 1 time you miss it this could happen. Same thing for us counting players in football.

The "once every four years" excuse is fucking pathetic, Jack fans.

NDSU hasn't disappointed at all. What if Woodsides team was tourney eligible during the transition? Would NDSU have more trips to the dance and just as many back2back conference titles as SDSU?

Both programs have really beaten up the summit since joining frankly. combined are always in the tournament and have won 4 of the last 5? championships, both post winning conference regular season records.

I dont see any way Jacks fans can say with a straight face(not that you have straight faces anyways cause y'all are some goofy looking bastards) that SDSU has heads and shoulders been better than NDSU...even though they both own the same amount of league championships, but head to head is pretty one sided.

UND is up 14 at the half.

Gophers down 12 to Wisconsin, a loss there could knock them out of the tournament.

So Miss on CBS Sports Network, they just talked about their good win vs NDSU. They are up by 1 in the first half.

Western Michigan is getting crushed, down by 17 at the half.

If both made it, would it actually make it worse or would it force them to do their homework and finally figure out the difference? I'm hoping only we make it and the confusion ensues.

Off topic and dumb question but what was the point of calling every foul early in the season and now they are just letting them play? Other than cleaning up some of the hand checking I don't see any difference from past years after watching all the games this weekend??

For the record, I don't mind letting them play.

Maybe I am way off base?

They haven't switched to much. They are letting more contact in the post go, but I think they are catching alot up top and I think players have adjusted some too. But I agree that there is some stuff that is happening where players from both sides stop and look at each other expecting a foul.

Now add in the Big Ten Championship game features the last 2 Indiana Mr. Basketball winners (Gary Harris of MSU and Zac Irvin of UM). Amazingly both played at the same HS and they didn't get a sniff at a state championship. I wonder how IU would have fared with either of them. This year's likely Mr. Basketball is heading to Kentucky. One contender is going to IU but another is going to Xavier.
