Keys to this game are really turnovers and three point defense.

We had a ton of turnovers at IPFW and that led to points in transition for IPFW. The Mastodons love to score in transition, need to keep them in the half court. IPFW is #14 in the nation from three.

This was Brown's best game as a Bison, solid on both sides of the floor. Carlin gave us some solid minutes when LA got two fouls early and something you won't see in the box score is Marshall's second half defense on IPFW's big guy, he made him work for every shot he got and he stayed out of foul trouble.

Tray was a one man highlight reel tonight, just ridiculous.

was thinking the same. He had a couple nice hustle plays in his limited minutes but he was 0-2 shooting. Is it by design that he isn't getting set up for more shots? He's never really been great at making his own space for a shot... Won't even try anything from inside the arc anymore... Ended up with 0 points again with two rebounds. Stella needs to get her groove back and soon if 1000 is going to happen.

Now i am by no means a great basketball mind ........we dribble penetration against the zone.... you make them collapse and that is how you get open looks on the outside ........ or a high post also works wonders against the zone that it seems teams like to play against us

I think generally for him to make shots he has to be open, IPFW made sure someone was on him, if someone is in his face he has a hard time making a shot which was case on his first shot of the game. He is never going to create his own shot off the dribble as most times the player guarding him is more athletic and quicker. For him the good thing is he can catch fire one night and rattle of 12-15 points. Problem he is running short of games for that opportunity to hit 1000. Good thing is nobody can leave him open regardless of how he's shooting.

Fun game to watch. Lot of dunks. Thought the refs were pretty bad but not necessarily a factor. At times it looked like we didn't really have a plan on offense or was that just my uneducated BB mind? Will probably my last game to watch in the old BSA, man that place sucks, can't wait for the new digs.

The more I watch high school and college BB lately the more I think there really is no concerted effort to run specific plays in BB. I see a lot of improvised match ups. Lots of "ball screens" rather than the normal off ball screens like we were all taught years ago. Nothing wrong with it by the way as long as it works. The three point shot and shot clock really caused this to happen because it opened up the floor making the "dribble drive" more effective.

I think at the high school and maybe the college level a team could really catch their opponent off guard if they actually ran a flex type offense with solid screens. I think few teams would have the defensive discipline to stick to their guy and or switch effectively enough to guard the flex if cycled through a few times.

Yes! Students have done great job going to games this season but yesterday was really the first time they were into the game from start to finish.

Next up at home is SDSU shouldn't be hard to get up for that one.
