Not really a miscue. In their judgment the runner was down before the ball came out. Replay was not conclusive, but if it was conclusive the ball was fumbled it's only reviewable if the fumble recovery was by someone in the open. Since the recovery was so close to the possible fumble and it was clear the Bison got it, they may have been able to award it to the Bison if it was obviously a fumble. I saw nothing wrong with how they covered this play.
