Both schools are dropping seven sports next year.

Temple is dropping baseball, men's crew, men's gymnastics, men's outdoor and indoor track and field, softball and women's rowing. This will take them from 24 sports to 17. Also, their plans for a new football stadium seem to have been put on permanent hold. Have to wonder if that sport is getting close to the chopping block.

Robert Morris is dropping men's indoor and outdoor track, men's and women's tennis, men's cross country, women's field hockey and women's golf. They're going from 23 to 16.

They've invested a ton of money in their football program and it's not paying off http://deadspin.com/how-temple-football-pulled-everything-down-with-it-1478147064

I think we are going to see more of this going forward.

Did anyone catch the comment made about the BCS money at stake in the NIU/BGSU MAC Championship game?
Had NIU won and gone on to a BCS bowl game, the conference would have shared an additional $8 million over what they'll receive now. An extra $8 million for the conference and BGSU goes and screws it up by handing NIU's asses to them. Not sure how the playoff system next year will affect the bowl money allocation.

@darrenrovell: Bowling Green's win tonight means the 4 non-BCS conferences will split $14.25M instead of $28.5M, a $14.25 million loss.
