What kind of "trickery" will our staff have in store for the playoffs? We know we will see plays we havent seen before. Predict some of our plays. Ill call Carson Wentz running the read option for a td

I predict no trickery this weekend. I think they will save for more difficult games. However, I think they like to throw in special plays to give upcoming opponents new things to worry about.

RUN* THE DAMN BALL!!!

*= Unless #82 is open. :biggrin:Don't forget fake run the ball and throw to 82 along with fake throw the ball to 82 and run it, and for good measure add a Brock running around for 40 yards or so.

I think they will keep whatever trick play they use pretty simplistic to keep the risk of failure down. Something like the Tebow jump pass or the Crockett jump pass. What I would really like to see is set Turner at TE, pull him and hand it off around the goal line so da man can score a TD!

First play on offense, play action (jet sweep) pass to the TE deep middle.:)

I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot more of #3 on Saturday. I think they are going to have a safety over the top for #82 all day and #3, 4, and 85 will be battling for the most catches.

Oh and a steady diet of #22 and #23.

Until they prove they can stop #22 and #23, I'm expecting to see a strict diet of running the damn ball. So much so that we may even see Mr. Lang towards the end of the game. LSU ran all over these guys and I would hope we could do something very similar.

I want to see the rock pounded on power plays over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over.....

They will quickly realize that are not in the South anymore, and we are much better than Georgia Southern. And when they start going 11 in the box, as they have no other options, I will tolerate 1-2 throws to Vraa and Smith.

Football's version of the "hidden ball trick". Ryan Smith* runs untouched into the endzone before anyone realizes he has the football stuffed down his pants.

*It would have to be Ryan. Since he's from North Dakota, you know, that bulge would be completely normal...

It was definitely there, but they ran the pass pattern too close to the sideline. I don't know if Billy would've been able to make that cut without going out of bounds.

Just wait guys, our coaches are VERY GOOD at setting up a play to be used later in the game, or later in the playoffs by running it one way the entire day/playoffs then adding one little wrinkle that burns the opposing defense for massive yardage.

One thing that I have noticed is that it seems like every time Brock "kills" a play, we run up the middle, and I believe it is always to the left side of the line. Has anyone else noticed that? Maybe this is something that they will change up in the playoffs?

Its a pressure/blitz check at the line and the Bison run power away from it. Saw it a ton against K State and a few others.

Yeah, I figured it was something like that. Is that pretty typical to run the same thing every time though?

If the Bison have the numbers and potential gaps/holes on that side of the D due to the coming pressure, why not? Take the 4-5+ yards and force the D to dail back the pressure outside of their front 4.

BisonFan02
12-04-2013, 04:37 PM
Also, I imagine that check is for linebacker pressure. If the pending pressure is from the secondary, expect Brock to hit someone on a quick route/slant.

We need to run the ball more, because a 485-271 run-pass ratio is not enough. Apparently.

Goal line offense, Turner as FB and lead blocker, or ball carrier.
Turner as TE, pull back and get the ball on reverse, then run or pass.
I heard he has a good arm.

For some reason I want to see Turner with the ball, getting to the second level, and watching defensive backs try to bring him down.

They tried against USD with the hook and ladder to him from Vraa but he couldn't hold on. Would have been interesting to see him get downfield for sure.

I'd love to see Turner throw the ball in a game scenario as well. I've heard he has the strongest arm on the team. Would prefer to see it after the game is in hand though so would've rather seen it against Ferris St or Delaware St but you never know. This coaching staff has shown that they'll call the trick play whenever.

Make him a big 16 jersey and then all you have to do is report to the referee that 77 is now number 16.

Almost positive anyone can take a lateral. Yes, both are live balls. Heck, in high school, we had a play where our center, who could throw the farthest, threw a hail mary; there was no rule against that in ND high school football at the time, at least. Not sure if college NFL allows non-eligible players to throw a pass. (Which would be awesome as Bohl said he throws the furthest.)

Ok so we've seen the wentz toss to brock...can smith throw? Run a double reverse pass. Brock tosses to Wentz and then wentz tosses to Smith who will then be on the same side of the field as Brock for the pass and then he can throw Brock a TD as he has been on the recieving end.
