With 2-3 teams above us losing (depending on the poll) how far will we move up? I'd say we're as good as anybody in IAA....#3 or #4?

By defualt we should see #4 on AGS. Both Cal-Poly and Youngstown lost to IAA teams and the other top 5 have already lost to a IA by larger margins.

Ya, I think that's a given but I'm wondering if we can move ahead of anyone that one as well?

We are a top 5 team...no doubt.

I'm saying that we will probably move up a couple notches in most of the polls and could make a run at #2 in the Gridiron Power Index.

These teams all won, and could be ranked above the Bison: Massachusetts, Illinois St, James Madison, Montana, Appalachian St.

App st. barely pulled out a win in 2OT to a team that we handled easily.

True, but can you move a team that lost ahead of a team that won?
It will be a tough call for voters

Yes, I think you can move ahead of a team that won. Comparative scores can only go so far but we dominated at Georgia Southern.

I think you can when the team that lost loses by only one point to a team in a BCS conference. :P

I had the Bison #5 last week, and moved you guys up a spot this week to #4. I'm not so sure the Bison aren't #1. After the Bison play UCD and Cal Poly they just might be - we'll see.

NDSU's loss to the Gophers should count on a level with a win against a quality 1-AA opponent. Illinois State lost by 1 point to Kansas State and I don't recall that hurting them much in the polls. Plus, NDSU already has a win against a 1-A opponent and should have won this game, so I'd say moving them up significantly in the polls is in no way out of the question.

I was assuming that a loss is a loss, although a loss against a 1A would be better than a loss against a 1AA. That said, I was assuming that we would stay level in the polls this week.

Normally you'd be correct, but I think with all the losses above and below us we stand a good chance of rising 2 or 3 slots. Probably not in AGS, since we were already ranked 6th. I'll predict 6th in AGS, and 7th in the CSN and TSN polls.

I am an AGS voter and I had NDSU 5th last week and will have them 5th this week.

NDSU moved from #9 to #6 in the Sports Network Poll this week and grabbed 3 first place votes (not sure how many they had last week).

NDSU is probaly deserving of some first place votes when you look at the records of the other top 5 teams. *I am not so sure we are not the best team in the country.....We need to win out now.

This is the highest the Bison have ever been ranked. Straight 6ths across the board. Maybe we should try losing more often? 8-)

Polls are great and congrats to the Bison, but let's focus on winning the Great West, arguably our toughest games are yet to come.

If we end up staying around #9 or #8, we will be the most underrated team in the Nation.

I like to see that we moved to #6, PLUS accumilated 2 votes for being number one with the loss. No doubt we could be the best team in the nation. WE DO have the best defense in the nation.
