Furman received the kickoff and ran the ball pretty well on the first drive. They stalled and had to punt at the SC State 45.

Well at least the first half. Maybe the 3rd quarter, but probably not the 4th. I'm not seeing anything special out there to be concerned with. I think SCSU wins this game.

Looks like SCSU is a shot gun read option type offense (I don't recall the QB running with the ball yet though, or at least not often). Every pass play appears to be play action off the read option look. Furman hasn't done anything on offense after their first play and continue to run the ball on every first and second down.

From what I've seen so far this game either one of these teams will get eaten alive by the Bison. The talent level isn't there and it just seems to me that so often when either offense does something good its because someone on the defense is way out of position. Very rarely is anyone out of position on our D.

A number of times when they come back from commercial they show the crowd and the guys right in front of the camera are just siting there for like 10 seconds before they realize the camera is on them and then they stand and clap, or put a finger in the air. Great atmosphere!

How often does Cue have to search for the hiked ball? The rush by Furman Def doesn't make it much of a factor because they have very little push, but continued poor quality hiking causing the QB to take his eyes off the field to find the ball maybe a factor next week.

And as pointed out by SDBison earlier in this thread the Furman Oline averages 270 lbs. I just looked at their roster, 270.6 to be exact (going off roster numbers). For refernce NDSU Oline averages around 300 lbs.

Let us be humble. The FargoDome opened in Dec. of 1992 for the specific purpose of accommodating Nov-Dec playoff games. It wasn't until 2010, almost 20 years before we got a playoff game in the FargoDome. Of course, since then we have filled the place and wondered why did we build it so small? I'm sure when SCSU opened their stadium in 1955, they had similar aspirations. They did win a national championship in 1977. Don't know attendance figures, but you get the idea of "If you build it, they will come."

Thanksgiving weekend games always have lower attendance due to students being home. Also, you guys might be the big dogs in your sparse state, but there was also a rivalry game considered one of the biggest in this part of the country going on a few miles from Orangeburg on Saturday. A lot of FCS fans in SC grew up as either a Carolina or Clemson fan.

That's not to say I wasn't a little surprised that the attendance was that low. I know Furman brought a decent contingent.

Agreed. We only got 12,202 for our Thanksgiving game back in 2010. We were averaging 16,568 going into the game.
