I screwed up on Fordham/Lafayette....Sacred Heart and Lafayette should be swapped.

That said, there is no rule for non-conference match ups. Two teams from the same conference could also play in round 1 if they haven't played in the regular season, so technically if SUU makes the field they could play at Montana in Round 1.

Right on. I figure SUU/Montana is a plane trip, so they'd do a better job of trying to spread the western teams out for better travel in round 2.

Thanks, you too. For those matchups, I just made a map with all my projected playoff teams (http://goo.gl/maps/NOq72) and played geography matchup. From there, I checked to see if they had common games. Try to guess which school would have the better financial backing to host. Pick which team is likely to win. Rinse and repeat for round two.

Two issues I have are:

1. I don't think Montana is a seed at all, let alone a top 4 seed; they're only getting 1 home game anyway, they can outbid everybody.
2. With Furman taking the autobid, I don't think the SoCon gets three teams in during a very down year.

How in the world anyone can have South Carolina State in is crazy to me. 9-3 win a DII win and no quality wins in 20 years. I hope it happens as it would eliminate a good team

It isn't like SC State is a lock...there is just too much crap at the bottom of the bracket. I could see SUU getting in instead of them, I could see SUU getting in instead of Jax State.

I don't think the committee will put a deserving 7-5 team in. Last year they left a very deserving 7-4 team out because well they were 7-4.

Totally agree with your opinion, though I don't agree with the committee. Unfortunately, they are not trying to get the best teams in. The unfair part of all this inclusion of inferiors (and bracketing based on geography) is that some lower seeded teams may face weaker opponents than the higher seeds in round 2, which defeats the purpose of seeding.

Maybe they will do the right thing at 10:30, but in today's world, it is more about inclusion, so I doubt it.
