I like the story about Nack myself. The guys that even we NDSU fans never really hear of, that do all they can to make the team better. But if you are still in the process of catching the ball as you enter the endzone, then you must maintain possession all the way to the ground. He caught the ball at the 5, ran into the end zone 5 yards, that's 10 yards of possession, I saw no juggling of the ball and neither did the official that initially called touchdown. To me, it's a horrible call, officials looking to make a call that wasn't there.

Wentz through behind Woods badly. This is WHY he needs game speed playing time. Bohl is a great coach, but has done a relatively poor job developing QBs to allow the game to slow down for them, in my opinon.

I haven't seen the play but in general the catch/no catch situation is the same in the end zone or on the field. No difference. If this was a situation where he was going to the ground in the act of making the catch (hard to picture that) and you don't like that rule, you can blame replay. It is good but it makes some rules way too technical. This is a direct example. If it was 10 yards he had to see a bobble early. That's usually too much distance to have a receiver going to the ground as part of the catch.

Well, then Montana is different, weren't they? USD didn't look soft to me - their OL was kind of nasty and their RB was a tough runner. Their defense just sold out on the LoS and paid for it. Seems like they were just outmatched almost everywhere. Now Big Sky? Yeah, they can make the occasional big hit, but their hardness is a thin hard candy layer over a liquid center. I wonder if USD was the most physical team Montana saw all year.

More specifically we can be ran on up the middle when we are in nickel. I thought when we were in our base defense we did a pretty good job. I have found it interesting that more often than not Heagle is man up on the slot and Shephard is playing a safety position. I would have thought it would have been the other way around.

I think it is combo-platter of what you say and that GO was just that good at smelling the play out and or where the ball was going, and filled hard with strong tackling skills. CLJ plays with his pads much higher than did GO.

I laughed when we were getting ready for the field goal. The sideline ref on the LOS starts yelling at the ref that's on about the 15. He then nods his head yes. Then the LOS ref runs about 5 yards yelling again. Stops and returns to the LOS and the other ref realizes he should be under the right upright for the field goal attempt.
