I like that there uniform numbers are so similar. The defenses must be on the field wondering who it was that just ran past them. I am sure glad our team has so many weapons. I could watch the SIU third quarter a hundred times. Everyone in the place knew it was going to be run after run and they had no answer.

OK....
There must be some freelance archivists on this board that can find this out......

Has there ever been a tandem of running back at the collegiate level who have each achieved 1,000 or more yards in back to back seasons for the same school?

I would guess that it's happened before but it has got to be extremely rare.

Not completely sure...but didn't Minnesota have Barber and another back that did it at least one year?

My small amount of money would be on Ronnie and Cadillac from Auburn.

EDIT: They never actually both got 1000.

Darren McFadden and Felix Jones had back to back 1000 yard seasons at Arkansas in 2006 and 2007. It is a very select accomplishment.

Bison Nation has 1000 yds rushing back and forth to the beer cooler.

Barber (2003,2004) 1196, 1269
Maroney(2003, 2004) 1121, 1348

Not sure how accurate teh internets is...but it also said bowl stats included so not sure how much were regular season.

Looks like Marony also had 1464 in 2005 paired with Gary russell at 1130 as barber graduated the previous year.

What's really impressive was in 1996 Reggie Scott had 952 yds and Kevin Feeney had 962 and Jake Morris had 725 yards! Here's the kicker, they did it in only 10 games!

Props for throwback name Reggie Scott! But option teams are really an apples to oranges comparison

Option or not, Reggie Scott was a beast and he would've been the greatest running back in Bison history along with Lamar Gordon! I can't imagine what he would have done with 15 games...

So, who will be Crockett's primary backup next season?

So, who will be Crockett's primary backup next season?

Don't think that will be even thought about until spring ball and won't be decided until fall ball. My guess would be Morlock but we haven't seen nearly enough of him or Darius Anderson to even start guessing. Plus whoever they bring in with this class may get a shot at it.

Tough to say. Maybe a trio of Anderson, Morlock, and Crockett. Nice contrasting styles.

That would be pretty prolific if it were to happen. the Pony Express didn't do it and they are considered one of the best tandems of all time. I think they combined for 2700+ in 1981 and 2500+ in 82.

FWIW

DJ McNorton & Sam Ojuri each had over 1,000 yds in 2011
Sam Ojuri and John Crockett each had over 1,000 yds in 2012
Sam Ojuri and John Crockett each have over 600 yds to date in 2013 and no more 3-4 defenses till playoffs

For curiosity sake, I wouldn't mind seeing #8 and #25 get 8-10 carries each on Saturday assuming the game plays out as most of us would suspect.
