Montana storms past North Dakota, 55-17
Associated Press

GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Jordan Johnson threw five touchdown passes as Montana erased an early North Dakota lead to defeat the Bison 55-17 on Saturday night.

The Griz (2-0) reeled off 33 unanswered points after falling behind 7-0 just minutes after the opening kickoff. Johnson, who completed 15 of 19 passes for 354 yards, threw 3 TDs in the first quarter and two more late in the game.

North Dakota(1-2) scored first on a Joe Mollberg pass to Blair Townsend, but didn't get on the board again until a Zeb Miller field goal 51 seconds before the half. The Bison had torched Montana's secondary last year, Greg Hardin setting a Big Sky single-game receiving record of 333 yards. Hardin was held to 46 yards on five catches Saturday.

Saturday was a nonconference game.

The Griz last won in Grand Forks in 1971. The teams did not play between 1973 and 2010.

Some media people dream about covering the Bison...

I get that they don't have a mascot but they do not get to borrow ours, especially when they get beat by 38 points and give up 55. How many games is it going to take to give up a total of 55 points??

My guess will be in the UNI game, sometime in the first half. So breaking it down, it will take into the fourth game, or 13-14 quarters.

The sad thing is that we will likely lose votes this week in the poll because.... well people are just stupid.

I figure its a Dave Koloack (not jeff) conspiracy since he writes for the ap and is always looking to annoy Bison fans. Or a UN_ conspiracy to pawn off their worst loss in ages on NDSU

Or else a Griz conspiracy to jump into the top 5

Im being sarcastic

He did a grey job of pimping und during the game. At one time he compared the und fan base to Montana and said they travelled well. This as the kickoff and the crowd is 40% empty! the NBOTN was actually being outdone by his d bag partner who said it usually takes 5 guysvto bring down the UND receiver! :rofl I was having more fun listening to them. Apparently they made "great strides" against SDSU! (Zenner school record)

Heck they can't say the truth. Didn't UND suspend a play by play guy for telling it like it was in a post game interview during basketball. The first rule about covering UND is check reality at the door. And please, please please keep talking up Muss. I want to see him there for at least another decade.

They did almost get 10,000 fans 2 weeks in a row when they were hosting teams from their own region who look to be in the playoff hunt again.

Everyone misunderstood when the attendance was announced, they were announcing the total number of seats in the arena, not people in the seats.
