View Full Version : What are the chances Sam Houston upsets A&M?

FWIW, Massey shows SHSU with a 10% chance of winning against A&M. (NDSU shows 16% chance.) Sagarin shows >30 point difference in the Predictor scores. Computer models are very unreliable this early in the season, of course.

My gut says that they'll play well enough to be in the game for a quarter or two, but get overwhelmed by the third quarter. I hope they can make a good game of it, but I'm predicting a 49-23 final score.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this game?

1%. Manziel will have a field day against that defense. He produces 5+ tds. I'd love to see the upset and will be hoping for it though. 52-24.

I fully expect the Sam Houston D to ask for an autograph on every play...until he snaps.

Sam has a zero % chance of pulling this upset. What about USD at KU? KU is favored by 23 and should win big, but wouldn't it be sweet to have the MVFC go 3-0 against the Big 12?

I would say no to both....If South Dakota wasn't the bottom feeder of the division, then I would say possibly.

I don't think USD will even make it a game, but one can hope. They did beat Minnesota, and USD wasn't a good team that year either. I'd say today's Kansas is more or less equivalent to the Gopher team they beat.

Dante Warren went crazy of U of M. I don't see anyone doing anything equivalent for them against Kansas.

As I see it, Sam Houston has two chances against A&M: slim and fat.

I give them a 20% chance if they can goad Manziel into drawing more personal fouls and he gets benched in the 1st quarter. :)

A&M's defense gave up a lot of yards to Rice....that said, A&M will roll these guys. Not even remotely competitive. Brian Bell may snap a toothpick in this one...

Pretty sure Bell is still planted in the Frisco Turf compliments of the Kyle Emanuel Landscaping Company.

Such a douche. Still lol'ing at him for picking up the ball and running it back to where the LOS was after a Bison penalty.

SHSU will get some points by way of Flanders, but aTm is going to go nuts in this one on that rebuilding defense. Something like 48-27 sounds good. Wouldn't be surprised if the Aggies scored more.

I was reading the SHSU board a few days ago. They said Bell put on some serious weight this off season. He's up to 165 now.

:offtopic: Best Sid stupid comment ever was after Jensen as a freshman completely destroyed the yotes the next week, he mentioned this is his column trying to figure out how USD could beat the Goophs, and get destroyed by NDSU. I was like Sid, are you such a homer that you don't realize that NDSU is just better at football than the Goophs about every year at this point? I just don't get why some who follow FBS think of them as "anointed" and untouchable by FCS teams.

Sam has no chance. Bison would win by 10 or more. No QB in the country can handle our D!! Suck it Trebeck!

Sam is gonna get destroyed regardless. The question is, is how many TD's theyre gonna put up. I'm thinking at least 4.

Ended up more or less as I expected, though that was a big 3rd quarter A&M had. I think CaBisonFan wins the prize.
