They had a little bit of rushing throwing Sams in there for a bit of wildcat offense (I believe that was the formation they used when he was in 2-3 times?) They may need to expand on that a bit?

41 yards against a Big 12 team is a huge accomplishment....Especially against a team that was up 21-7 in the third, when running the ball becomes the standard.

I love me some Bison and don't care about yardage and only care about the scoreboard. That being said, in the two games you mentioned, the Bison gave up over 530 total rushing yards. I am not sure what you are referring to.

Against teams that almost exclusively run the ball. They are experts at it
I watched part of the Wofford-south Carolina game last year and for parts of the game Wofford ran it down their throats but never scored on the Bison!

Great job not letting them get a ground game going. Honestly, they had trouble doing just about anything except throwing the ball deep.

24 yards less the 17 yard TD run.....simply mind boggling! Of course they pretty much abandoned the run and in the end, that was their demise. Control the line of scrimmage and you will always have a chance no matter what level of football you are playing. It's a simple formula that has worked forever.

That's the way that NDSU beats FBS teams:

1. Defense: Stuff the run and make them one-dimensional. Yeah, the D gets burned on deep balls, but those are low percentage.
2. Offense: Eat up clock and spit out points. Limit turnovers.
3. Special Teams: Don't give them good field position cheaply. Anything else is a bonus.

99.99% of every person remotely familiar with the Bison made the play call before it happened. I just can't think a team with 6 months to watch some film would part of the .01%. Sometimes great execution completely negates any defense.

Not sure I agree with that. According to the official stats, Emanuel got two sacks, and Tony LaVoy got one. Jirik had him once but let him go.

The point is this, the OL is back in its entirety, although one starter was out for this game. The OL gave up only 14 sacks in 13 games last year, or 1.08/gm. With 3 sacks in this game, the Bison pass rush was 2.78X the average team KState played last year. I think they did pretty good actually, given the experience of the OL they faced.

Aside from our run defense, our defense on returns was just as impressive. We had four punts, they had 0 return yards. We had 5 kickoffs. They averaged 8 yards a return vs our 29 yards a return (I know we pooched our first four kicks but still amazing how tight we played kicks).
