Best Team NDSU ever played

Interesting how we are debating whether this 2013 team could go down as the best team in NDSU history and the first game is against a team that could be the best team NDSU has ever played.

So who do you think the best NDSU opponent? 2012 Georgia Southern and 1965 Grambling team come to mind. But I firmly believe (on paper) this is the best team NDSU has ever scheduled.

There were 5 players from Grambling who entered the NFL in 1966. Five more players over the next 3 years were in the NFL. All were in the NFL at least 3 seasons.

Nine KSU players signed contracts this year although 6 were undrafted and some might get cut before the season starts.


If you want to go back to the days of yore, the Bison played 2 national championship teams back in the 30s. While the Gophers were not consensus #1s, they were voted #1 in the majority of the polls.

I don't inow about pre-1960, but KSU is significantly better than anyone since then. I dont care how many Grambling kids went to the NFL, it's a team game.

I think that Central Michigan was the best team we ever blew out.

Kansas State is probably the best team on paper that we ever played.

KSU will be the best team NDSU has ever faced no doubt. What I'm trying to point out to you is the 2012 KSU team was #1 at one point last season. This is the 2013 KSU team, not the 2012 team. This team has not been ranked #1 yet, get it?

Well, NDSU played the national champions twice in 1934 and 1935 (Gophers) and lost 56-12 and 26-6.

Even if they beat Texas (#15 in the preseason poll) and are 4-0 on Oct 1st, K-State will be behind a couple of SEC teams, a couple of Pac-12 teams, and at least one B1G team.

Well, we haven't played KSU yet, so the best team we have played thus far, and since I can remember (which goes back to the early 80's), would have to be 2012 Ga. Southern.

2012 Ga. Southern would have mopped the floor with the '06 Gophers.
