View Full Version : Official news-Daniel Sams will be the QB for the Bison game

GOBISON123

I am citing an unnamed source, Daniel Sams is the starting QB for the Bison game.

Depending on the score margin Jake Waters might come in during the 4th qt. This depends on the margin by which K-State leads NDSU.

No. It's not.

I'll grant you have a 50/50 shot, but nothing is official until Aug 27 when the depth chart is announced, and even then it might be an: "Daniel Sams OR Jake Waters" situation and we'll all wait until K-State's first offensive possession to find out.

Double the work coaches have to do for preparing for the game and getting the guys ready for what I believe would be 2 different defensive schemes depending on who is QBing based on their individual strengths.

and Klieman has enough time to prep the team for both. on a side note KSU will be dumbfounded when the Wentz package is unleashed. Cant wait to hear KSU fans say "Wait he is not your starter?"

Reminds me of USC NDSU bball game. Guy turns to me and says "wow that guy is good, he scored 60 this year right?" I replied "No sir that is Mike Nelson the third option!" Took him awhile to believe me

Daniel Sams can
a) Run
b) Throw
c) Played last year and big game experience.

Jake Waters
a) known for throwing perfect timed passes

So its just commonsense that Daniel Sams will start the game for K-State.

Didn't know where else to put this. Just a little write up on KSU's offensive line. Their line will definately be the strength of their offense. No matter how you look at it, this will be a challenge for our defense.

Listening to KC sports radio this morning on the way to 'work' and Stan Weber, KSU's radio analyst, says he expects Jake Waters to be named starter with both guys getting snaps. I'll post the podcast once it's up. Weber has a son who's a WR on the team so take that for what it's worth.

that's been my view all along. jake is much more controlled and take-care-of-the-ball kind of qb with a ton more game experience, to say nothing for his credentials.

btw, 1350 is the local manhattan/k-state sports station. they do a weekday 4pm sports talk program. gameday, they'll be on the game a lot. here's a linky.

http://1350kman.com/

810 in kc is all day local sports talk about the kc region. i never listen. but some find it entertaining. and their range is well beyond 1350. you can pickup 1350 soon after entering kansas, if you drive down through lincoln.

snyder changes his 'philosophy' to fit his talent from collin klien, a run first qb, to michael bishop, a true dual threat, to chad may, a winger. don't base the 'philosophy' on what you saw with collin. snyder will put the best talent on the field and adjust his offense accordingly. and he puts a premium on mistake-free football.

K-State utilizes a variety of read option and designed QB run plays. Klein ran for 925 yards on 207 carries with 23 TDs while Sams ran for 235 yards on 32 carries with 3 TDs. Hubert, the main RB ran for 952 yards on 189 carries with 15 TDs. Angelo Pease, the backup RB had 333 yards on 60 carries.

I wouldn't worry so much on beating our corners. I'd be more worried about your receivers crossing the middle 20+ yards downfield. The Golden Eagle and Dudzy will be waiting back there to pop anyone that comes across them. Not dirty hitters by any means, but they hit much harder than their size indicates. Both are fast and looking to put a lick on someone.

Not sure what Frisco game you were watching, but if you're talking physical play from our DB's (I was talking safeties) then yes. This defense plays physical. If they get a chance to take a shot and get your players to think twice, they will take it. Not cheap shots. Solid shots.

And this defense is smart and they fly around. They're in good positions a majority of the time. Watch out for the Golden Eagle. He's returning from injury and looking to prove his dominance as an AA safety. He will stop your run and punish you if you leave a receiver defenseless. If I remember correctly, the DB's were only called on one personal foul ALL YEAR for an illegal hit against UNI. I still don't agree with the call. Dudzy blew him up.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

That's not what it looked like in Frisco vs Sammie... I saw a number of cheap shots taken by your DB's.

Plus, if your safties are in position to make hits like that, then we won't be passing much.

I believe that you got this impression from reading the Jayhawk's board post game thread after their game with us. Yeah............Daniel Eaves dislodged one of their receivers kidneys on the "fumble shot" that sealed the win.....and they cried about that too.
A lot of nutless folks in Kansas apparently.

I have never read "the jayhawk's board". It will instantly lower one's IQ.

However, that would explain the overwhelming stupidity and delusion that resides here as it pertains to the upcoming game.

Haha....that was Tim Biere, TE from KU and he was cut from an NFL team yesterday. Made me think back to that Eaves hit.

Please, pardon me Oh God of Football Knowledge. Was just giving some insight. Never said your kitties couldn't handle it. Told you what to expect. Get off your high horse. I'm not the one that started the "only if they can handle this guy" BS. This is going to be a great game.........the superiority complex of k-state and all the other mighty FBS teams will take another hit on Friday night. Wish this game was on ESPN instead of lame FS1. Can't wait to see all those disppointed wildkitty fans during and after the game.

Speaking of FS1.....I'm watching their NFL show last night and they put up the upcoming TV schedule. Thursday night is some Utah State game, then Saturday is a host of good games, blah, blah, blah.......Not one word about NDSU/KSU on Friday night even though it's listed on the screen. They'll probably promote the Friday night game during the Thursday night broadcast when there's direct competition with ESPN's game.

For a while I thought the only good explanation for FS1 not pimping the Thur and Fri night games was because they may have some concerns about doing live games, you know all the logistics, cuts back to studio, booth segments and other production concerns that maybe they wanted to workout prior to the first big day of games on Saturday. But now because they are advertising Thursdays game I think they are biased against FCS, or something like that.
