Per the Kolpack tweet.

Played both offensive and defensive line for TGU (Towner-Granville-Upham.) First team all-state as a junior. Starter on the basketball team - looks like he played summer AAU ball with ECI which, I think, was started by Luuuuuuuke Moorman.

I think 6'5", 265 was what I saw. Really like the name "Bacon" for an OL!

How big is this kid? OK, I found it for myself in the recruiting thread:
Jeff Kolpack ‏@FGOSPORTSWRITER
NDSU gets in-state verbal from 6-5. 265-pd OL Luke Bacon from Drake-Anamoose, according to D-A HC.

If he hits it hard and does things right, he could easily be up to 285-290 by fall camp.

Yep, Kolpack made the correction and then this post:

Another in-state OL is Tanner Volson, says Drake-Anamoose HC Chris Arnold. He's 6-5, 280. Also plays some FB in HS.

Moorman is the head of ECI now, I don't think he started it though.

Love the size. DT like Drevlow? Big North Dakota DE like Phil Hansen? Or O-line? Both these guys seem to be very athletic?

They are obviously athletic, hard working, and talented young men. They don't need pages or ratings. The coaches wouldn't offer a kid that didn't have what it takes to play at this level. In fact, I love that these guys are probably under the radar and that we picked them up early. Adds more depth to either side of the ball and allows the coaches to go after the kids they really want that do have pages and ratings.

Gabe: I can only speak for the TGU(he comes from the Granville area) player Luke Bacon. He is big, but very coordinated for his size, and quick! The quickness is what everyone likes, but the fact that Luke not only comes from a bloodline of athletes, he is also has the NoDak farmer work ethic.

Pretty sure that Kolpack said they were both recruited as offensive lineman.

Luke Bacon had about 80 tackles last year and led his team which is pretty stellar for a DL.

Kaitlyn Bacon, 21-year-old sister of Bison freshman OL Luke Bacon, was killed in a motorcycle accident near Minot. Her funeral was today.

Terrible tragedy. Hopefully the Bison family can bring him some comfort.

Is Luke any relation to Curt Bacon who ran track for the Bison (two time national champ in the steeplechase in the late 70s and 80)?

What kind of support system does NDSU have with counciling? This is a huge loss for anyone.

Just an FYI, Coach Klieman attended Kaitlyn Bacon's funeral, and the outpouring of support from him and all of Bison nation was very much appreciated and noticed by everyone who was close to the Bacon family. Just another indicator of just how special it is to be associated with the NDSU community and how Bison Pride really means something.
