(http://www.gobison.com/news/2013/7/18/MTF_0718133054.aspx)Matthew Neururer was named the Gatorade Minnesota Track & Field Athlete of the Year after winning state championships in the 800 meters (1:55) and high jump (6-8.) <--- that's not a combination you see every day.

Brady Brockel won state titles in the 400 and 800 at the South Dakota state meet.

Wonder if I can dig up a complete list of recruits? NDSU signed 10 guys this year.

Explosiveness + great middle distance strength = next NDSU great decathlete? That explosiveness/athleticsm shown in the high jump may transfer well to the long jump, 100, & 110 hurdles. I think he would do well in the 400 and 1500 based off his 800 time. Discus, pole vault, shot put and javelin would be the real unknowns.

Well it looks like Desi and Ryun could be fighting over Matthew. His best high jump in 2012 was 6' 2" so he may still be
improving. My best guess would be that he specializes in the 800 and occasional high jumps. No way he becomes
A multi eventer. There is just too much to learn. He went to Pillager and does not appear on the schools top 5 list
In the 100, 200, 400 etc... he will be a stud in the 800 for sure!
