It's Kansans.

Riddle me this: Why is it so windy in Kansas?
Answer - Nebraska sucks and Oklahoma blows.

Snyder's teams record against Oklahoma and Nebraska has not been so good:
OU 7-10
Nebraska 5-14

Against Oklahoma State he has fared better at 10-4. He is 5-2 against Texas.

His team did demolish the vaunted 2003 OU team that was supposed to be God's gift to college football. OU also lost to LSU in the Sugar bowl.

Deluded? Trophies are in the case. Not National Championships, but Big 12 Championships:
2012-2013 academic year
Big 12 Football Championship
Big 12 Men's Basketball Championship
Big 12 Baseball Championship

Kansas State athletic department should be rightly proud.

From an ESPN story:
"In the BCS era, only Stanford (1999-2000), Texas (2005-06) and Louisville (2012-13) have accomplished the same feat."
...
"Like the football and basketball teams -- which were picked sixth and fifth respectively in preseason conference polls -- the baseball squad was not given much of a shot by the league's coaches.

But after being picked to finish seventh, K-State went 16-8 in the Big 12 and 41-17 overall, driven by a .323 team batting that's second-best in the country. In winning the Big 12, the Wildcats also made the biggest leap from a preseason selection in conference history."

I personally think this game is the toughest non-con game on K-State's schedule. Your guys are 28-2 the past 2 seasons and a lot of them have played together through the last three seasons and a 37 and 7 record. I think you were screwed on the supposed fumble at EWU in 2010 or you might now have 3 FCS National Championships in a row.

Experience together as a team is a very important factor in the game of football and your guys have it on both sides of the ball.

I think this game will be close and won in the fourth quarter.

Good luck and here's to an injury free 2013 season that sees you win another FCS championship.

Good luck and here's to an injury free 2013 season that sees you win another FCS championship. Thanks, but your post is almost too nice. We are used to back handed compliments if any. This should be a great game and all I care is that KSU fans notice how well NDSU does at football with a great fan following at away games for a relatively small university, 15K vs. somewhere around 45K for bigger FBS universities, and in FCS with 63 scholarships versus 85 in FBS. I think NDSU is already closer to a FBS program then a FCS program. The problem is openings in decent FBS conferences that are nearby. Most K-state fans will find it difficult to understand how the Bison can come into their place expecting to win, this is not intended to show any disrespect to KSU as much as it shows how far NDSU's football program has come.

KSUfanPittSUalum

Well, thanks. It's nice to actually see some respect coming from the fanbase of an FBS school BEFORE the game. We've gotten it before, but it's been always post-play (like when we lost to Wyoming in the last minute or so [and same with Minnesota the first time] and after our FBS wins). Now, NDSU might not win this game as KSU is a very good squad, but we do expect them to win. This team is not afraid of the "Big bad FBS" and eat it up when people laugh them down as the "Little guys in green (lol)."

didnt wanna start a new thread

The twitterverse that is the KSTATE QB battle was very active today. Sophomore phenom Daniel Sams who has crazy speed tweeted

Apparently, the whole world wants me and @Jwaters15_GLA to hate each other smh lol.
https://twitter.com/DS4ms/status/364513002558464000

Followed by @landontodd tweeting to them #teamlifewater

That Landon is quite the poundtag creator, so funny that Sams had to RT and even ask Jake if he loves the idea as much as Landon and him.

@Jwaters15_GLA aye bro how u think that sound lol. Team #LifeWater lol.
Dont worry guys, Jake likes it also, so no drama to see here!

Haha i kinda like it.. Best one yet
https://twitter.com/Jwaters15_GLA/status/364574267955884032

Waters continued to have a great day as he got a haircut from his teammates
https://twitter.com/DS4ms/status/364593229544443904/photo/1

In all Sams had 5 tweets and 3 retweets on his page while Waters had 11 tweets and 1 retweet on his page. It appears they are having a rip roaring good time at camp with no worries in the world.

Brock Jensen hasnt sent out a tweet since camp started August 3rd

I'm right there, SDBison. I have a lot of respect for your program, this team, and your coach. I understand that your fans expect to compete, and won't be shocked to see your team win. I do think your team is competing at a lower-tier FBS level. Teams at that level do compete with, and even upset mid- to upper-level FBS teams, which is where I feel K-State is this year.

I do find it off-putting to read comments like, "I'll be shocked if we (NDSU) lose."

I have no problem acting like a civilized human being when someone approaches me as a civilized human being. Come at me as an unintelligent idiot and I can respond as a unintelligent idiot. I do believe this is strictly message board talk and the game atmosphere will be well behaved.

I do find it funny listening to Jaba the Fitzgerald whining about how KSU didnt get any respect heading into a game with OU back in the day and now he is acting like the people he thought were so pompous.

Maybe the title should be "Does playing K-State hurt the reputation of our fanbase?" :)

But I'm learning to relax a bit about the smack. Yeah, a lot of Bison fans do like to stir up the opponents beforehand. Suppose it's good because the last thing we want the other team's fans to be is apathetic. And unlike at Minnesota, we can't make an impression on K-State by taking over the town because there just aren't enough seats to go around (that and we don't have much of an alumni base in Kansas.

Still, I'm more of an old-timey sandbagger as in, "Crap, I wish we weren't playing Legendary Head Coach Snyder first game of the season. He and his minions have had all spring, summer, and fall to prepare for NDSU."

Playing major conference opponents certainly does. Most college football fans, like the overwhelming majority, do not follow lower divisions at all. For some reason our fanbase demands that higher-division fanbases (despite not following nor caring about our division) respect our squad to a degree that almost nobody could ever be expected too. This started back in 06 in Minny and has really never stopped. So we have tantrums and flame wars like this. The net result is always twofold. On one hand our fans make idiotic blanket statements about other team's fans, and we also have our loudest and most obnoxious representatives out making us look stupid all over the internet. About the only factor in our favor is that the actual Bison fans who show up at the tailgate lots, sans computer, are almost all generally awesome and rational people.

SD Bison-I don't think it makes me a "pussy" to realize that fans of higher-division football teams will expect that their team is better than mine. Besides, what says "pussy" better than getting butthurt that people who don't know you don't instantly respect you because you say they should or because you beat MN or KU in terrible years even by their standards? I don't expect any respect from these K-state trolls..........wtf, the only reason they are here is because some Bison fans feed them by giving NDSU little or no chance in this game. They are the Big12 FBS team and get all sorts of attention already. The story of this game is how good of a Bison team is this and can they knock off a team that was Big12 champs last year. I think the Bison have close to even odds based on the exceptional FCS team that they are and the fact KSU lost a good chunk of their starters and heisman candidate QB.

Really?!?! You claimed you were in the Vietnam war and have run no less than two multi-million dollar companies?!?!? Hmmmm?! I guess we can just assume the balance of your posts are total bullshit too!! What else should we expect from a troll.

there's a significant difference between 'most of us' and 'all of us.' but the point remains. this is an ancient history lesson. k-state basketball was 'nails' back in the 1960's. i remember quite well. football on the other hand was not so hot.

And you run for cover....

As far as I am concerned, last year and last game for you and us is ancient history. A team is only as good as their next game. As applied to you, you are lucky, as judging you by your last post (are started thread for that matter) would leave you out to dry.

Remember from 1960-65 when K-State scored a grand total of 0 points against KU?

Almost as bad as SDSU's losing streak to NDSU in Fargo before 2008, which lasted about a million years.

im sure 56Bison73 thinks the 60s KSU team were the best ;)

I've said it before and I'll say it again. You better hope Bill Snyder lives forever.

The new NBAF building is actually a cover for an advanced cloning and accelerated growth facility to clone Snyder :)

seriously dude, most of us weren't alive in the 60's. but we do appreciate the ancient history lesson. btw, that was the decade that k-state basketball won half the conference championships.

I'm only 30 bruh.

However, I was a history major.
