Here's a thread for previewing the 2013 Redbirds.

Summary:

Offense: Depends on how they replace their QB, Matt Brown
Defense: Their defensive should be even better.
Special Teams: Everybody comes back.
Coaching: Brock Spack is one of the best in the FCS.
Facial Hair: Ron Burgundy would be proud.
Transfers In/Out: +Jared Barnett, QB from Iowa State, +Collin Keoshian, a 6-3 260 RB
Details:

On offense, both backup QBs from last year were switched to WRs in spring ball so the QB battle is between Wyoming-transfer Pittser, redshirt-freshman Winkler, and Iowa State-transfer Barnett (although they've got a late-commit at QB too, Jake Kolbe, that they're pretty high on.)
On defense, all their starting LBs graduated, but their backups got quite a bit of playing time and performed well. Their line was exceptional last year and they only lose one player from it. They should have one of the best defenses in the MVFC.
Last year, Illinois State's offense looked unstoppable early and NDSU's offense looked non-existent (Brock went 6-16 for the game and was pressured a lot.) In the second half, NDSU forced a crucial fumble and scored on every possession and limited Illinois State to an early field goal.
