Unless he can play C/F, he's probably going to be sitting behind Jacobson, Brown, and Dupree.

So play 8 minutes a game for a team that has a legitimate shot to make the Dance as an at large or play 2 minutes a game for a team that plays in a conference that will never have an at large.

I work with his dad, and they are family friends. He told me a month or so ago that Boise didn't seem to be a good fit. He knows what NDSU fanatics my family is, but he never mentioned anything about Joe coming here. He did mention Colorado, or somewhere closer to home. I wish I saw this earlier and I would have asked him about it! I'm going to go talk to him right away in the morning. Joe is a beast.

If he can find a program that fits him well, he might walk on and earn a scholarship. You never know. The only reason I asked is because it doesn't seem like Boise is the right fit, and changing schools to somewhere closer to home is something he and his family are looking seriously at. So that's why he would even consider that.

With an RPI of 275 you can get the 3 seed in the Big Sky. I am sure that will be "bigtime" for his Dad.

I'd love to see the excuses on this board and from our coach if we played over a quarter of the season without both Braun and Bjorkland. I get what your saying but I also work with enough of their fans to know the injury bug has not been kind to their starting 5 this year.

What's the rest of their conference's excuse?

Grizzled
03-08-2013, 01:41 AM
I don't think the rest of the conference has one and if it does, I don't follow it close enough to know. I'd imagine their tournament is a two team race, just like ours.

I was responding to hearing three weeks worth of excuses from our coach and some fans of our poor play. I do know they were without their best player and likely MVP of the Big Sky for a month + and also without their best post player for half their season. From what I saw (and read) the three weeks Braun was out, we would not have had as many wins in nonconference without him and surely would have struggled without Bjorkland at the same time.

RPI is stupid.

The top of the BSC is typically very similar to the Summit.

Yeah, UND was third. They also had the Jacks beat at Frost until a desperation heave went in at the buzzer.

Both conferences have plenty of dogs dragging down the RPI. As if that matters.

Not quite enough said, as two other starters were out for Omaha (and most of the last month). Not making excuses here, but thought I could add something to the UND discussion. :)

The Big Sky is bad outside of two teams, enough said.

I'm sure the conference has had better seasons but only three teams have a winning conference records and only two teams have winning records.

Not that any of this pertains Joe (it doesnt), but who has won a game in the ncaa tournament last; big sky or summit? Maybe its not a fair question since the summit is relatively new.

I agree.

The truth is that the Summit is also bad outside of maybe three teams. Better overall? Yeah but it's a distinction without a difference. Both conferences will get one team in the Dance and probably with the same seeds.

The summit hasn't won a "real" tournament game since Valpo. Montana won a game about 3 years ago over Nevada.

I agree both are one bid leagues, the Big Sky is probably a seed line behind the Summit though so not a huge difference really.

We were something like 5-4 without Braun. We blew out every team we were better than, and our 4 losses were teams that were in the top 110 RPI.

Again, the Big sky's 3rd ranked team has a current RPI of 231. Summit has 5 teams in the top 240.
