View Full Version : Bison Verbal: Pierre Gee Tucker

Mr. Burgundy
02-06-2013, 02:54 PM
Gee-Tucker has nine Division I scholarship offers and has already visited North Dakota State, which will play for the FCS (formerly Division I-AA) national championship, as well as Northern Iowa.

"It's a good problem to have, but he has to figure out the five official visits and make a decision," Pettus said, who also named Tennessee-Martin, Southeast Missouri State, Missouri State, Indiana State and South Dakota State among schools making offers.

Several larger schools have also shown interest, including Iowa State, Iowa, Western Kentucky and Northwestern.

Wildest recruiting deal I can ever remember. This is a huge get for us, and again the most nuts recruiting deal ever. Unreal job by our staff. Congrats to them, congrats to "PGT" and to his entire family. WELCOME!!! First team all Illinois Outside backer. 9 scholarship offers.

You can definitely see that he is a man among boys in those highlights. His acceleration is nuts compared to the others on defense.

I didn;t know much about him before but I am a big fan now!

He is the icing on the cake! Major stud. All State in Illinois. Co player of the year for large Illinois schools. Every team in the Missouri Valley wanted him. Had tons of offers elsewhere. Our defense will be sick for years to come. Great fit for our defense. Hard hitting, fast as a cat, and great in coverage. .He was the top guy I wanted to see us sign from outside of the area. Awesome awesome awesome!

its obvious why WE WANTED HIM SO BAD----big playmaker

Man oh man, the thing I noticed big time in his highlight video besides the speed he has, is his ability to shed blockers. Many times it was like he was left untouched even though he would go around, over or under the blockers to make the stop. Truly a natural playmaker.

Are you kidding Farley is probably on the phone with the kid trying to find out who at NDSU managed to put our fax number on the UNI form.....and
I am sure he already knows....

Kolpack's article says that PGT chose NDSU over UNI because of program stability. I wonder how many other recruits this affects.

Small for a linebacker, looks to have enough of speed to be a strong safety?

He will definitely be an OLB, hes already as big as our starting lb's on the team currently.

Here's the current roster of Bison LB's. He's one of the biggest ones the Herd has, he hasn't even hit the strength and conditioning here, and dare I say appears to be the most aggressive. He's a perfect fit for LB at NDSU.

PGT 6-2 215

52 Travis Beck LB 6-0 207 So. Munich, N.D. (Langdon-Munich HS)
54 Tyler Gefroh LB 6-0 218 So. Grand Forks, N.D. (Red River HS)
48 Logan Hushka LB 6-0 214 Jr. Fargo, N.D. (Shanley HS)
43 Alex LaVoy LB 6-0 218 RFr. Naytahwaush, Minn. (Mahnomen HS)
38 Carlton Littlejohn LB 6-1 216 So. Minneapolis, Minn. (North Community HS)
34 Grant Olson LB 6-0 223 Jr. Plymouth, Minn. (Wayzata HS)
58 Zach Riopelle LB 6-2 218 Fr. Warren, Minn. (Warren-Alvarado-Oslo HS)
44 Antonio Rodgers LB 5-10 221 Jr. North Miami Beach, Fla. (West Hills College) (North Miami Beach HS)
55 Nick Scoliere LB 6-2 221 RFr. St. Charles, Ill. (Marmion Academy)
36 Joey Sonnenfeld LB 6-3 202 RFr. Maple Grove, Minn. (Osseo HS)
41 MJ Stumpf LB 6-2 185 Fr. Harvey, N.D. (Harvey H.S.)
9 Esley Thorton LB 6-3 207 So. Bismarck, N.D. (Bismarck HS)

Not at all. The tampa 2 is meant for speedy linebackers. Think speedy guys like Derrick Brooks of the Bucs in their hey day. He will be bigger than Brooks by the time Kramer does his magic

lets be honest..........if he is 215 to be a nfl outside linebacker he needs to gain 10 lbs of muscle......he is big enough to be a outside linebacker at ndsu today

My thought was that he looks so fast, tackles so well, has great pass coverage and could be shifted back to safety. But you've straightened me out that he does have the size to play linebacker and could be a terror at that spot. He looks like he could be a nightmare for other teams with his blitzing ability.

Board I believe is of similar size and nature, so I'm hoping they keep him back at safety.

Sorry if this side tracks this thread, but with the number of LB's coming up this has to be a huge off-season for Esley Thorton. He finished the season probably the #4 or 5 LB but due to kids coming back from injury and freshman coming up, there will be ALOT of competition for backup slots and special teams. Esley has had very important jobs the last two seasons and has earned his rings, but who would have thought 3 years ago that Esley might only see the field as a special teamer outside of a series now and then.

Makes me wonder if they may put him back at safety as that position is also low on depth. Heck of an athlete to be bouncing around all over the field, but he always does his job well.

Time will tell with Esley. I suspect with a full year of training as a OLB he will be a different beast come fall camp.

He has a prototypical safety build for this level. With his athleticism and speed, I'd love to see what he could do at strong safety.

Ditto with this. It's what he played in high school so it is something he is familiar with.

Tony's Jeff Illies post reminded me that a few weeks ago PGT tossed 169-11 in the discuss http://www.stltoday.com/sports/high-school/boys-track/o-fallon-boys-belleville-west-girls-emerge-with-early-victories/article_898e79d4-9417-11e2-9307-001a4bcf6878.html

That is a school record! To compare, the best in Fargo South history is by Jerimiah Wurzbacher in 2004 with a throw of 175' 10".

http://www.fargo.k12.nd.us/education/components/scrapbook/default.php?sectiondetailid=17324&

I guess with Davies taking all the good athletes from South their is a silver lining, Adam Dobmeier and myself may stay in the top five for triple jump a little longer
