Bison football gets verbal from 6-4, 210-pound TE-DE Justin Axelson from Spring Lake Park, Minn. Plenty of pancake blocks on video.

Welcome to NDSU Justin.

With Justin's verbal and Wentz from Florida looks like it could be some more power running for the Herd in yrs. to come. Both are excellent blocking TE's.

I loved watching his film last night. How sweet is it to watch a TE film and it is like 95% blocking. kid is a beast. Exciting to have another RAM out there. Congrats and welcome to NDSU!

Nice thing about him he could fill in anywhere on the O Line. Good pick up. Seems to have an attitude when he's blocking!

Are both of these guys projected to stay at TE??

Who knows, I never thought we would sign 3 TE's this class or 5 Dlineman either with only 6 seniors. The coaches must be going for the best available athlete mentality vs needs.

With our TE's on the roster it does make sense IMO. Bruhn is done. Nelson and Vaadeland being seniors next year would have left a void for2014. Keep redshirting and the talent flowing. I like it.

88 Luke Albers TE 6-5 248 RFr. Amherst Junction, Wis. (Iola-Scandinavia HS)
89 Justin Arp TE 6-4 217 Fr. Cogswell, N.D. (Sargent Central HS)
47 Garrett Bruhn TE 6-1 241 Sr. Beatrice, Neb. (Beatrice HS)
49 Derek Lee TE 6-3 238 RFr. Wichita, Kan. (Maize HS)
86 Taylor Nelson TE 6-4 250 Jr. Minnetonka, Minn. (Minnetonka HS)
85 Kevin Vaadeland TE 6-4 238 Jr. Park Rapids, Minn. (Park Rapids Area HS)

I think that Vigen referred to Vaadeland as a sophomore on the radio this season. He could be eligible for a sixth year because of the knee injuries he had during his first two years on campus. My guess is that an official determination can not be made about a sixth year until the end of his fifth year. We'll see how that shakes out.
