PWO or scholie?

Kubik was offered a scholorship by us. Us, Montana St. and UND were all hoping to land him as a PWO but we offered a scholorship and it was game over. I know he is a real solid football and basketball player and all indications from the people I have talked to in Dickinson is he will be a nice college player for us. Trinity has put sent some good football players (probably more than any other high school in ND, besides BHS) to both NDSU and UND the last 10-15 years and hopefully Kubik is another one. I have no problem spending a full scholorship on this kid as I think he has potential to be a Buckman type OL.

Hard to pass on a kid with this kind of size and potential. Fuchs does a great job bringing out the best in these kids. Welcome aboard Jesse.

Thanks to you both. He does have nice size and I love OTs like Plankers, Lechler, and now Kubik who are also basketball players. I think it helps with their footwork.

Great to have another big kid from North Dakota verbally commit to NDSU. Seems more often than not these big lineman from the area do well. Looks like NDSU's entire o-line will be stacked with some 6'4" to 6'7", 300+ pounders in the coming years!

Gotta love 6'7"guys with the frame to get to 320-330 who are agile enough to play basketball and were born here with Bison pride. We are going to have one bad ass o line.

Hey, another SW kid! Welcome to the Bison Jesse.

I don't know much about Jesse, but he has similar size to Keith Buckman also from the SW area

Gabe, only D2. Those other schools had only offered a preferred walk on spot up to this point. We were the only one of those 3 that offered a scholorship.

The twitter post said his best was a 3/4 scholarship, do we know who offered it? Not that it matters anyway.. some good programs were looking at him and coach Fuchs knows his stuff. I bet UND would have offered hadn't Adams came along. I am suprised were getting another lineman since were kind of stacked now but maybe losing Hahn had something to do with that. Another thing i like about him is he's a LT, which is obviously the toughest spot to play

At that time his only offer that high was from University of Mary.

3/4 scholarship would seem pretty high for Mary as they can only offer 24 equivalencies.... unless he was their top target.

I have been thinking about this statement and have to wholeheartedly agree.

When I think about how the OL started out this year with the setbacks and injuries to Jerve and Hinz, and then how he brought along Colville and Haeg, both RFr and the later a PWO, you have to be impressed with the job he did. The OL really came together in the playoffs and then just kicked Sam's ass in the second half of the natty, a most impressive performance against the best rush defense in FCS (statistically speaking).

Not to mention how he developed Lund, the FCS Rimington Award winner, wow.

Impressive Coach Fuchs, very impressive.

Fuchs has been amazing. The best part for me, I remember the bison illustrated article about him and his family said they plan on being around for a long time.

Big frame, wide body, plays basketball, and the best part is from southwestern North Dakota. Doesn't matter what other school offered him. He will be a dominant OL for the Bison. Great get.

Yeah, who else offered Keith Buckman? NDSU coaches know ND high school football talent better than anybody.

BTW, is there any confirmation of the Kubik verbal that can be linked to?

Wasnt impressed much by Kubik personally thought he was fairly overrated, certainly didnt dominate ND AA football by any means. Does have a nice frame, and will be interesting to see if he develops but to me personally this is a bit of a reach if he is on a full scholly. To his defense he did not play in a power downhill running scheme so perhaps he will be a starter someday.

My team has played Lamoure twice this year, they front the post like crazy, but i don't know how they will be able to match up with size, they don't have a good post presence, their big man is more of a slashing forward, if Kubik gets the ball it could be over quick.

Big man and 5'11''?? Seems like an oxymoron.

Haven't had a big man all year, very quick though IMO, agressive on D turned on the full court pressure on us and it caused turnovers, maybe that will be their gameplan to take 6'7'' size out of the question if they create turnovers.
