I cannot say this is the official ring idea, but here's a picture I was given of at least an idea of a ring. Like I said, I cannot confirm this as official, but I was told it was a "sneak peak". Enjoy because I think they are pretty bad a$$ looking!!!

I think the ring is cool, but a gripe I do have is that if I were not on the team in 2011, I would feel weird that my NC ring also has a year that I wasn't a part of on it.

I think I would prefer a year by year ring (or a b2b ring on TOP of a year to year ring)

I believe the ring has some major influence from captains and seniors, so as much as I agree with your statement, they may not have thought of that during the decision making process. The one gripe I have is the 11 small diamonds that surround the trophies. Why 11? This was championship number 10... Year 2012... Maybe they are predicting something...

If they are like last years ring and meant to have significance they should have had 8 and the 2 large ones on top of the trophies.

Probably a stupid question but does it matter for the true freshman or redshirts that werent here last year? Do redshirts get rings anyways?

At least they fixed the bison head logo. Would have hated to see the one they first brought out with the logo changes.

They get rings...they work hard in practice and help the team get ready for that week's opponent.

So do they get back to back rings even tho most of them werent around for the first one?...thats what i was getting at.

01-19-2013, 03:41 AM
I guess I wouldn't have a problem with it... They were on the 2012 team... maybe leave the back to back off and keep the 2 trophies? The upperclassmen probably want to recognize the significance of back to back not many teams can do that. Really though to me it's not that big of deal.

I think the the back-to-back design signifies what the team did, not the individual players. My guess is yes, they all get the same ring.

I am truly amazed that you continue to be absolutely positively dead negative about absolutely anything discussed on this board. I forgot that in the realm of a message board, we as posters are not allowed to share our thoughts and feelings, especially to anything that doesn't pertain to us personally. Which, by my accounts, is everything other than a few food threads, beer and booze, random thoughts, and share your joys and concerns.

My "gripe" was a question to the number of diamonds, not a change to the design. But you'd know that if you actually read my comment. And if you're going to smack, at least use the right words. It's my psyche, not my psychic. You'd have to call them to see what they think.

BisonEngrGirl

The first thing I thought of was the "back to back" lettering for freshman. But, this ring is for the team and the university, and if I was a freshman I think I'd want the memorabilia of being part of a back to back legacy. If this is the design they go with, I think it's a nice choice.

You are right, I misspelled. Obviously, however, from what you are saying you really didn't mean to use the word gripe. I get that now that you have explained it. Thanks.

I think it is important that the rings say "back to back". I doubt new players care if they personally didn't win back go back. I'm sure Andre Martin will have no problem flashing this bling, especially to his UNI buddies.

Well, since I was one of the people who used 'gripe' I will assume you are making this comment about me as well.

I am truly amazed you think I honestly am complaining.

Ultimately the team decides what is best and I don't have any say in it (nor should I). That doesn't mean I can't still voice an opinion raising questions as to why...but really at the end of the night, who gives a shit? Well...apparently YOU do since you made sure to bring it up...and I guess I now give a shit you give a shit since I'm responding to this shit you wrote.

SHIT

OK got that out of my system.

I will question as I please, and I will continue to laugh at you from behind my computer screen as you get butthurt because I'm griping about something that doesn't have anything to do with me.

Top of the ring references both titles. I don't know why everybody would want Grant Olson's info on one side, though. Who will question me? I say CAS...he's one ignorant sob. :D

Because Grant Olson said that's how it was gonna be and people are smart enought not to argue with him....Also, Chuck Norris changed his name to Grant Olson yesterday.

"There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area we call the Twilight Zone."
