FYI...the reason the officials didn't measure on the 2nd and 3rd down plays was they started the series on the 31 (good crews always start a series with the nose of the ball on a yard line). The LOS officials knew they had to get to the 41 and they marked them short both times.

Agreed, Sam's strength is their offense, NDSU's is your stellar defense. Sam has been able to use their quickness to move the ball, but once the field shortens they haven't been able to do anything on your defense. I wouldn't be surprised to see NDSU bust another big play like the Crockett run, especially with Sam selling out in the box on most plays.

Now I know what you are talking about. No UNS for that. He wasn't keeping the officials from spotting the ball. If they were trying to get it to enforce the penalty and he did that you could have a delay of game but that's about it.

It's a black eye for FCS officials that this is the best they have to offer for the championship game. It's about as bad if the rumors are true about Boger getting the Super Bowl.

Both fouls occurred after the play was over. Bison will be kicking from the SHSU 35 yard line. An onside kick would be a GREAT idea. Worst case SHSU gets the ball at their own 20-25.


Disagree. Their calls have had huge implications.
Assuming they were wrong they would have some implications. As a fan we tend to see every call how we want to see them. Most of the calls we are commenting on are close judgement calls.

I agree the white hat was extremely tentative on the defensive holding call on Martin. Even if the call is right that doesn't put much confidence in the crew.

Martin got screwed on the holding call. He is getting beat deep but he is a hell of a tackler and run defender.

We need to keep it close in the 3rd and then I think we will start to pull ahead in the 4th. Just can't give up much in the third.

Bison may have caught a break on the hold. The take-down was well after Flanders was clear of the line. There may have been some restriction on the shoulder when he went through the hole but I think the official was influenced by the take down after.

No such thing as reporting eligible in NCAA. #91 is not eligible in NFL but is in NCAA and HS. The best part is no linemen went downfield on the play.

You have to like the way the third quarter went! SHSU can score quickly though so this game far from over.
