FARGO RATINGS of MVC teams: NDSU vs SDSU

I have done two analyses of the MVC teams. The first uses Fargo Ratings. These are self-consistent elo-type ratings that best predict the scores of this year’s conference games. These work on a logarithmic scale, so if team A is 100 points above team B, then team A scores at twice the rate (leading to scores like 28-14 or 20-10). If team A is 200 points above, then team A scores at four times the rate, leading to scores like 40-10. This is about the best that can be done with a single parameter (one rating for each team).
I have done a separate two-parameter analysis for which each team has an OFFENSE rating and a DEFENSE rating—that is the subject of another thread.

The Fargo Ratings of the MVC Teams are:
NDSU Bison 613
Southern Illinois 550
SDSU Jackrabbits 545
Northern Iowa 535
Indiana State 525
Illinois State 503
YSU Penguins 497
Missouri State 480
USD Coyotes 407
Western Illinois 290

Bison are 68 points above the bunnies, suggesting a score like NDSU 26, SDSU 17
