Hello all,

There are a bunch of us pill pushers that have a big national convention in Vegas Dec. 1. Since we will all be in town from across the country, and since we have many bison alums in Vegas, we need to organize a watch party now that ESPN Gameplan is in play. EPbison or others in Vegas, suggestions on where to do this? I am more than willing to go off strip if you feel that is needed.

I was in Vegas back in 06 for about three months for work. We'd hang out at the Crown and Anchor just east of UNLV. They have a room upstairs overlooking the bar that can seat about 10-13 guys with your own TV and sound. The food was great! I don't know if it's the same owner, be we called it the English Pub, run by Russians. I think it was on Tropicana. Good luck!

Go Bison!

Sams,

Have you made contact yet? Once we get this baby set up, I'll get it to the alumni association for posting. I will also pass it on to the College of Pharmacy for distribution since they have a bunch of alumni in town that day.

If there is a watch party, I may come up from PHX for it. No ESPN3 at my place here so I have to find somewhere to watch game.

There will be a watch party. It will be at LVH Sportsbook or Steiners Pub on South Lav Vegas Blvd

My first choice is LVH as they will have the games up on the board to bet on. Plus their sports book director is a CSU grad and we had some fun jabbing back and forth before the game

Socalled will be updating with alumni association with either his or my number

Okay, let's go with LVH. That way, it will be a more classic Vegas atmosphere. We may not have sound, but we will have a blast.

Good work and great work also to Jay Kornegay (https://twitter.com/JayKornegay) the sports book director at LVH. All I wanted was a TV to watch it on and now I think we get the best set up for a watch party out of any of those locations. here is Jay's last message to me

Ok. I reserved the Hall of Fame room for ur group. From 1230-5. This is our VIP room next to the race book seating area.

I just went to check it out and the place is immaculate!! 9 TV's that we can have all tuned to the NDSU game and we will have sound. Seats about 20 but room for 15-20 to stand. I am on cloud 9 right now! when I figure out how to post pics of the room on here I will.

If I were not planning to attend the game, I would consider driving down just to be a part of this experience. Great job!

Hope all in attendence appreciate the work you have done!

Heck I considered the flight from Bozeman for a few seconds. Tscf go out with sams after the game and you'll really see what it's like to live it up.

It was all Tscf!!! I just used my connects, called in some favors and locked down the VIP viewing room in one of the biggest and baddest sportsbooks in the world. Just a typical Wednesday in Vegas.

Interesting scenario has developed.....

I called up the College of Pharmacy Development Officer and she made sure it was advertised through the alumni association, went out to Vegas based alumni, and to all college of pharmacy alumni (we have a HUGE 20K + national meeting in Vegas, thus why I will be there). I have pharmacists from the Cities, Sioux Falls, and Fargo who are all going. The COP said many pharmacy students plan on coming. However, she also shared the information with SDSU. (Very difficult position for me to object considering I work in Sioux Falls....plus, I am actually nice, sometimes.) Now, it has gone out to SDSU alumni, and through a state society I belong to in South Dakota. I really have no idea how many people are coming, but I plan on reminding folks how good LVH is treating us and ask them to be sure to buy drinks, food, etc. I am hoping if the VIP room fills up (which I am sure sams and I can try to keep to NDSU folks if clevor; should be clear when I put swag everywhere......), I am hoping they'll put it on another TV in the actual book if a bunch of people show up. We will see. Funny part was I was originally worried about not enough folks coming, now I am worried about too many! That is probably a good thing, though, as we get some cash back to LVH for being so nice to everyone and I bet they'll go for it and it will only grow the legend of Bison football.

Be sure and check out the life size Elvis statue right out the casino door as you walk to the Sportsbook. I want to see a picture of Thesocalledfan with Elvis to prove he was there as TAB is making a bet in the tailgate group that he wont make it to his own party !! :D

Okay, I just want to give a few thank yous:

1. First, this would never have happened except for the phenomenal work and connections of SamsRams. John, you made your dad damn proud today, and know he we was with us.
2. Second, LVH spoiled us like we could never rightfully expect. I mean, not only a room, not only a line to bet on, but free drinks for a $10 bet?
3. To the Alumni Association and College of Pharmacy for getting the word out. We had many folks show up we had no idea were coming including an old professor of mine!

Now, let me be get a little emotional and go CABison on you:

The reality is that many in the nation have no idea who NDSU or what FCS football is. We were extremely blessed to have been treated so well by LVH, but why did they do this? Well, it is simple; we have passionate fans who travel well, and have been noticed by at least a few. Part of the reason we pulled this off was the CSU game this year; it got LVH's attention. So, when Sam talked to them, and I promised to deliver the folks, they listened. We more than delivered.

Are there many other schools who could have pulled this off? Yes, perhaps a few, but not many. Further, we made another statement today. LVH was very impressed by the turnout and the staff said we were loud and heard throughout the game. We turned heads in the regular book, and sure we got a few to keep an eye on the game even though Bama/Georgia was on.

I am so damn proud to be an NDSU alumni, that I nearly started crying on the way back to the hotel thinking about it. And even though the setup was also advertised in SD, they had exactly 3 fans show up..... We are so blessed to follow a team that not only demand this respect we were shown today, but also earned it. We are North Dakota State, we are the Bison, and we will always be a force to be reckoned with.

I'll see you in person next week. HAIL THE BISON!

First, that sounds like an amazing atmosphere for watching the game.

Secondly, Question.
My mother and a couple alumni she knows were at a sports bar this last weekend watching the game and are going to be returning again next week and I said I'd look into getting the location up on the alumni association website so that more alumni will know that the game is on there and can come out... But, I intend on being at the game in person. When I went to the alumni association website to set it up it appears like I need to be at the location to 'host' it. Do I need to get someone who is going to be at the location fill out the form or can I do it and not be present?
