Duquesne: Lost first two games on the road at Albany (69-66) and Georgetown (61-55). They got their first win vs James Madison (90-88 F/OT). Duquense has never faced North Dakota State. Sean Johnson leads the Dukes in both scoring (15 ppg) and rebounding (5.5 rpg). Freshman Derrick Colter is averaging 12 ppg.

They have a Massey Rating of 137. (NDSU is ranked 166)

Any game against an A-10 school will be a tough matchup, that being said it took overtime for them to beat James Madison. Both teams coming off OT games could factor in late in the game, should be another good one let's see if we can beat the host team! Go Bison!

They do have a 7 foot transfer, from Latvia, they are working in.

Don't download anything. Close all the windows that may open behind your current window. TRy to find the small orange or red Xs and close them out, eventually you will see the video behind all the ads and crap.

Hes probably a kid that would have benefited from a red shirt year but quite frankly we need another body out there. With Lindberg and Aaberg dealing with injuries you never know how long they will linger. Hes played 4 games in his college career, hes going to be raw and little behind but should improve over the year.

I think he is fully expected to be a contributor as a true freshman, and this is only game #4 for the team, and he had mono which prevented him from playing much the last month. I think he is getting his legs back. Not ton of minutes really available for him, but he will shine at times, he is a bit different from the other guys, another TOUGH kid which was sort of the recruiting message if you can't tell with some of these guys. Brown/Kading/Vandenbergh are critical to us getting tougher. Brown is just nasty on defense.

Good balance on offense, defense held the Dukes to 25% shooting, we have 17 pts off turnovers, 16 points in the paint and 7 assists on our 13 fg's.....nice half overall. Fast start in the 2nd half and the game is ours.

I didn't notice that specifically but one thing I did like is they really went inside to Marshall early....that set the tone for the game rather than doing the weave over and over. They set us back for a few minutes when they went zone but we eventually adjusted.

I don't know if the screens were more physical but they were made with a purpose in mind....a couple really nice screen and rolls that led directly to a basket by the screener. Our offense opens up so much when our bigs move out to the FT line for screens and then actually feed them the ball low. We also had several baskets where our bigs flashed to the FT line and were wide open for jumpers. The first half offense had the best ball movement and inside-out committment I've seen in a looooonnnng time.

In a motion offense you have to runs screens with and for a purpose, not just because that is what you are supposed to do. But what do I know about BB?!

On my way home from work tonight, I'm listening to Bill Self on the Jayhawk pre-game show and one of his comments about their last game had to do with his kids figuring out they needed to run the offense with a purpose. The purpose is to score! It's not just to pass the ball around because the coach says that's what you're supposed to do. It sounds stupid but it makes complete sense....sometimes the guys get so focused on running an offense the way the coach wants it to be run, they forget the objective is to score. Tray and the rest of our guys played to score tonight. I saw many games last year where that wasn't the case.

I agree. I really like what I'm seeing from Braun and L.A. These were the 2 guys we assumed we'd have to count on and they have stayed within themselves for the benefit of the team while sacrificing individual stats. Every night will be a different guy stepping up and that's how you win as a team. You just get the sense when crunch time comes and we need him, Braun will be huge. Tray looked like a player tonight instead of a thinker.

Yeah Tray was playing with a purpose tonight, which was great to see. If he can give us that kind of performance consistently we will be very tough to beat.

LA has been great, he is logging major minutes and he handled their press very well.

I did not get a chance to watch this game last night, but it sounds like we really put together a team effort and dominated a team at their place. Felt has been on fire to start the season and now Tray lights it up last night, Bjorklund has been consistently solid on the inside and LA and Braun have done their parts without trying to do too much. Braun will have his days when needed, but really happy to see him stay physical and tough on D even when he's not scoring a ton of points. Too many star players will start slacking if they are putting points on the bored and it truly looks like this team does not care who scores as long as somebody is putting the ball in the hoop and the team gets the W. Sounds like Saul has the guys playing offense with a purpose and he made the adjustments needed to beat the zone, if this team is really coming together and Saul is taking a step forward as a coach this season we could have a really good year ahead of us. Let's polish this tourney off with one last W and get off to another great start this season. Hopefully our team has grown enough to play at this level all year and not fade down the stretch. It's still super early, but there's a glimmer of hope again and we've gotten there with limited minutes from Aaberg and Lindberg hasn't even seen the floor yet.

I'm excited because last night the Bison were the better coached team. We executed and had motion in our offense with everyone getting touches on a possession. Our guys played tough and weren't standing around watching a teammate play 1 on 3 NBA basketball. These things didn't happen on a consistent basis for the majority of last season regardless of the level of competition.
