As far as I can tell, it's not impressed with the quality of the teams they have beaten. And the DII win they have isn't helping them.

Yeah, my head scratching was more because of the disparity between the 2 rankings. I don't think they should be 2 or 3, but 33? hmm...

Sagarin's computer has Montana St. 16th. Clearly, computers have a bias against Montana St. ;)

What is everyone's thoughts on Towson in the polls with a record of 2-3, with wins over St. Francis and William & Mary, who is 2-4 this year.

vs.

The Citadel at 3-3, including wins over Georgia Southern and App. St. Losses to NC State, Chattanooga (bad loss), & Samford (in my top 25 this week).

This was my hardest decision this week. I had Towson out and the Citadel barely in.

Sagarin's computer has Montana St. 16th. Clearly, computers have a bias against Montana St. ;)

I know Sagarin's algorithm treats all DII and lower as one really really crappy team.

I think mine hates them even more when it comes to quality of victory and strength of schedule. And if you lose to a DII...your ranking is screwed.

I have not seen Rodgers do the double choke this year, maybe he's retiring it. Or more likely it's because they suck ass and don't score TD's anymore.

The Citadel is out but two teams they've beaten are #8 & #13? C'mon Bisonville!

SHSU is 3-2 with a loss to 4-2 Central Arkansas, but they are 11 spots higher? C'mon Bisonville!

2-3 Towson, with no quality wins, comes in ahead of 5-1 Illinois State, who has an FBS win, and 4-1 McNeese State, who also has an FBS win? So Towson's lack of quality wins with their losses to FBS Kent State, FBS LSU, and ranked JMU make them better than a UNI team also with no quality wins and losses to Wisconsin, Iowa and two top ten FCS teams? East coast bias much? C'mon Bisonville!

Why participate when I can just criticize everyone else? Lol. I really want to give it a shot though. I started one a few weeks ago but realized it's easier to pick apart someone else's submission than to look over the results of an entire season and formulate my own observations.

I admit it...I'm an armchair SID.

Why participate when I can just criticize everyone else? Lol. I really want to give it a shot though. I started one a few weeks ago but realized it's easier to pick apart someone else's submission than to look over the results of an entire season and formulate my own observations.

I admit it...I'm an armchair SID.Thats actually the reason I wanted to start a poll here. I think that we have honestly a fairly balanced fan base that follows FCS football fairly closely. You are more than welcome to PM me a vote before Noon on Mondays and I'll will include the vote. We've had about 20 posters vote. There is a lot of knowledge on this board to be shared.

The only poll I vote in is AGS...other than a few people that are completely unhinged over there it isn't too bad.I like the AGS poll, there are enough people that vote in it to balance out the idiots and the committee makes it worth it. I am eligible, but don't wander over there anymore. I still think they have an east coast bias, but you look at the population base and how some conferences use AGS as their home message board it makes sense.

There has been a shift westward on that board as far as voters (like me for example), but I can see where you are coming from. I think where it comes into play is when they will give the occasional NEC/Patriot/Ivy/CAA team the benefit of the doubt and it probably inflates their positions a little.

The Jacks out of the coaches poll is a joke, SDSU is better than anyone from 18-25. Also Cal Poly should be higher.

From the games I've watched, State shouldn't even be in the top 25. Sumner and the passing game need to step up in the coming weeks.

Persistence will pay off. I'll try to vote this week.

From the games I've watched, State shouldn't even be in the top 25. Sumner and the passing game need to step up in the coming weeks. There is a solid top 15 IMO and then a group of 20-25 teams you could make individual cases with for where they are placed in the next 10 spots and then an incredibly large drop off. The problem I have with it is how far to drop a team after a loss. My big issue was UNI last week and YSU this week. The biggest problem for me was ODU was off and MSU was very unimpressive(was stuck in bozeman for the weekend and watched the game). It reminded me of the old Great West days and NDSU's early troubles in California. There are alot of teams that have had great opportunities that have just squandered them away, Citadel. Then you have Towson which confuses me why they were ranked so high. LSU called off the dogs early, they give JMU a scare....I dunno, when teams have an opportunity to help them selves and lay an egg its tough, but MSU getting any 1st Place votes after what NDSU did to a ranked team just baffles me. I'm sure its the media in the big fluffy taking care of their own.

UNI is such a tough team to rank. They have played 4 teams they shouldn't beat, and they have responded by losing all 4...as expected. I still think they are top 25 worthy but I can't justify putting them there until they prove that the 4 losses are just due to quality opponents and not due to them being bad.

I try my best to rank teams based on the limited information I have at hand every week. Wofford has a big test finally (I rank them lower than just about anyone at #13) but it they win I will jump them up considerably, and if UNI can dominate, I may find them back in the top 25.

I don't know anything about your "computer" but it has Mont St at 33, and they are at 2 and 3 in the polls above.

[/scratches head]

MSU at 33 makes more sense than Alabama A&M at 17

I think it is 80% fair (as in 80% of people on here know what they are talking about... or that obsessed in being rankings whores.

Bottom line, Bison are gonna go to the championship game. This year and next. And so will most of us posting.

Yeah but...

Didn't someone at AGS give YSU a first place vote this week AFTER they got shell shocked by the Bison? I put that right up there with mistaking UND for NDSU and moving them up in the polls when the Bison are in a bye week and the undies get blown out.
