How high do you think he got with this amazing play? (If your wondering...the DB #25 Stephen Meighan is listed at 5-10)

That was pretty amazing. Loved seeing the reaction of his teammates on the sidelines.

I spoke to a former player this summer and he said Bonnet is a freak of an athlete and is kind of a goof ball in a good way. Says the ceiling is very high with this kid.

When I saw it happen, I remember seeing it somewhere but couldn't put a finger on it until today...check out Bonnet in the recruiting vid below starting at 1:20 after Grimm. Not the first time he's done it.

Biggest Question for this thread: Is it pronounced "BONN-et" or "boh-NAY" ?

No doubt great athleticism. If you watch closely on the "hurdles" at the 1:43 and 1:51 mark....you see penalty flags come out. In both plays the result was a 15 yard penalty on Bonnet from the spot of the foul. Hurdling is illegal in high school (apparent safety issue---and you hardly ever see it), but legal in college.

Doesnt' take away from a great highlight film, however.

Well, that finally explains it. I always wondered why this guy didn't bother hurdling......it's illegal!

Should have tossed him in at the end if the UNI game. That would have shut the announcers up!

Correct. You see a lot of YouTube video of high school kids doing it with no flag so people are surprised when it is correctly flagged. Texas and Massachusettes use NCAA rules so if you see any clips from there it is legal. Hurdling is defined as jumping over an opponent leading with your knee or foot and the opponent has nothing but their foot on the ground. If the defender has a hand or some other body part on the ground it is legal in high school as well. In NCAA it is only legal for a runner to hurdle. Any other player is illegal. It's not common but the most likely way is a defender hurdling over the line to block a try/field goal.

Couple of nice Andrew Bonnet articles from Omaha.com
The 1st is from before the championship game, the 2nd from after.
Sorry if they were posted elsewhere, don't remember seeing them.
Nick DeLuca also gets a paragraph, as do King Frazier & RJ Urzendowski.
