Came across this while browsing the interwebs today. More than likely has been posted in the past, but it's still a fun read especially after knowing the outcome of the game.

Funny how KU hasn't been the same since. I remember Eaves and Pierre destroying KU's TE, Biere (who incidentally is on the Chiefs pre-season roster). I also remember sitting in the vehicle in traffic afterward listening to the KU faithful scream for Turner Gill's head. It was epic and went on for 2 years after that game. Possibly the worst football coach I have seen.

Don't forget, KU defeated #15 Georgia Tech in their next game.

Won't forget the bus ride there from the tailgate lots. Even the bus driver was talking shit.

Bus ride back sported a lot less noise from the chickenhawk faithful.

That's because KU football fans never stay until the end of a game.

Good preview! Lol

I remember a guy at IHOP in Lawrence before the game telling us the score would be like 60-0. KU fans are iduots, and so are members of the KU media, obviously.

"It's an important game because it's the opening salvo of an entirely new era of Kansas Football"

Loved listening to the post-game call in show on the way back to KC. People yelling, screeming, crying... Pretty sure one guy was in the middle of a suicide.

They win an Orange Bowl for the first time probably ever and think that they are a real program. HAH. Fail Kansas.

Jayhawks recall painful memories of loss to NDSU (http://www2.kusports.com/news/2011/aug/31/jayhawks-recall-painful-memories-loss-ndsu/)

The KUsports article was a few days before their 2011 opening game against McNesse State (a season where they went 2-10). I didn't know, but the starting Jaykawk QB in the NDSU game was moved to wide reciever for that season.

"It’s obviously in our players’ heads. I think the best thing is we used it as motivation in the offseason. I think that’s the best thing that came from it, and it may have helped us out in the long run," said junior wide receiver Kale Pick, the starting QB in the NDSU game.

kansas, again, is going to be the punching bag in the big 12 this year.

they will finish last, again, and probably wont record a single win in the conference. i hope south dakota state rolls in and does what the bison did. that game kicked ass. i remember walking across campus after the game trying to find phog allen fieldhouse(remember how the phog and football stadium were on complete opposite sides?)...we asked some ku kids where teh hell we were going...and some dudes bitchy girlfriend was like "we dont talk to ndsu fans" or something snotty like that...the dude told us where to go.

downtown lawrence sucked.

The next week they beat G.T. who was ranked 15th in one poll.

georgia tech, they were ranked 15th...so ndsu is/was the 14th best team in the country.

At least, because is Georgia Tech was 15th and KU beat them you could take that to mean KU was the 14th best team, so NDSU was the 13th.

Funny you call him a bad coach. Shortly before this game teh espn did a dramatic segment berating Auburn for being racists by not hiring Turner Gill. Well, look at what happened. The guy from Iowa State won a national championship and Gill was shown the exit. Typical espn drama

not saying the media didnt believe what this article is saying, but I am saying that someone named Rockchalk is no more of a media member than anyone on any board talking about any subject
