Got it confirmed that Grant Morgan, a 6-5, 250-pound lineman from Oshkosh North High (Wis.), has verballed to NDSU. Cent. Mich also offered.

Welcome, Grant and the Morgan family, to Bison athletics.

interesting CMU offered Morgan to play guard, a position he never played before

"It's been a dream of mine to be able to play Division-1 football since I was a little guy. I've been working hard at it my whole high school career so far. I've been pursuing that goal and it was really surreal to hear it. It hits you pretty hard. It can be pretty emotional because you invest so much time and effort into it." I'm pretty sure that he's never played DT either (from what I've read, he played DE.)

Always good to win a recruiting battle against an FBS school.

According to the story above, Morgan has relatives in ND - wonder if they wrestled.

I'm surprised there isn't more buzz/excitement on this thread about Grant. After watching his game film, I noticed that he has a real knack for stopping the run. He's making good reads and putting his body in a position to either stop the run or push the RB to another hole. Not to mention that he’s a big frame kid, I could see him plugging holes and wreaking havoc in the middle in about 3 years. Solid Verbal.

I agree. Kid goes to three camps: Central Michigan, Southern Illinois and NDSU. He received an offer at all 3 camps and picks us. Kid is a stud, coaches are excited they landed him and Kolpack made it sounds like his coach said he works his tail off and is a great leader. We will need some beef in the middle. Our studs are Juniors in there now.

The kid just has great form and seems like he gets a quick read and reaction. He gets low and then just stands them up and drives with his hips.

Grant Morgan arrived at Oshkosh North well before he needed to on Tuesday afternoon.

Waiting must not be a strength of his. Not when it comes to football anyway.

“I was counting down the minutes. I was just sitting there and I couldn’t stand it any longer so I got here real early today,” Morgan said during a break in the Spartans’ late afternoon practice. “It feels good to get out here running with the guys and getting ready to go for our senior year.”

Travis Wilson at WSN tweeted last night about the possibility of Wisconsin contacting Bohl about the Badger job and Grant responded with a defin-
ite no. Badgers are having a lot harder time finding a coach than I thought they would.

Why would a high school recruit say that a major school like Wisconsin shouldn't contact a a FCS National Championship caliber coach like Bohl? That's a little ballsy isn't it?

Sounds like a severe case of gossip to me...."heard it from a friend who, heard it from a friend who"....in other words, not even worth talking about....
