Walter Payton Award Nominees

NDSU is shut out once again for individual players garnering attention from the national media. This time it is with the Walter Payton Watch List.

Some schools, like YSU, have two players on the list, Jamaine Cook and Kurt Hess. Sam Houston has Tim Flanders and Richard Sincere on the list.

Indiana State has Shakir Bell.

My guess is Marcus Williams will make the Buck Buchanan watch list.

we dont really have anybody that should be on the walter payton pre season list so i agree. could ojuri or jensen have huge seasons that could get them in the hunt? definitely.

As we all probably thought, Marcus Williams did make the Buck Buchanan watch list. It will be a tough row for him to hoe though. Nobody will throw in his area so his stats are likely to suffer. Additionally, Matt Evans won it last year from New Hampshire and as a Soph he finished fourth. Unless he gets hurt, it is likely his to lose.

It will be interesting to see how Evans does against the Goophers on Sept 15.
