IPFW takes their miracle run to the Summit championship game. They've been one game away from elimination for at least the last five or six games. Sorry ladies, but I hope the Bison will end that run tomorrow.

We won't be able to end it tomorrow. This is a double elimination tournament.

It was a tough game. They got a home run in the second inning and Menke didn't look overly great today. Probably understandable since she tossed a one-hitter yesterday. They got a home-run in the second inning and held the lead until the fourth. We scored twice, thanks in part to two errors by IPFW. We held that lead til the end. Great strike out in the end with their runner at third base. Met the grandfather of the Bison third basement (Grable). He came from Caliornia to watch the tourament and really knew the team. Anyway a fun game to watch. Now, I'm motivated to go watch tomorrow.

Asked Grable's grandfather how she ended up at NDSU. Sounded like her Dad suggested she take the trip to Fargo and check out the school and city. Apparently, she fell in love with the both and decided to come here. He said he has been in touraments in California and Arizona and keeps meeting NDSU graduates so I was glad to fill in as the NDSU grad from KC. It sounded like UMKC eliminated SUU and were going to play IPFW at 6:00 tonight. Glad to see that Bison get to rest tonight and will have to be beaten twice tomorrow to be eliminated.

Question: How come the Bison aren't the *home team* in these last two games?
Bison were #1 seed, and haven't lost a game, yet IPFW gets the last at bat in both games.

Not sure what the rules are in college if higher seed gets home team or not...but in high school in tournament play...its a coin flip. So the simple answer is...they lost the flip both games.

Not sure that walking two batters in a row was what the coaches wanted with an 8-0 lead.

Livestats locked up about 5:30
It was showing the bottom of the 6th, IPFW batting.
It still wasn't moving as I write this.
So the Bison Won?

I figured they had another inning to go but team all went crazy after the third out in the sixth inning and that's where I learned about an 8 run mercy rule. As bad as we looked in the first game, we looked that good in the second game. We put pressure on them with people on base in every inning. I think they advanced runners to second in only two innings. Total domination with 14 hits to their 2 hits for the game. They started looking beat in the third inning.
