Sweet -- it's in Colorado! I watched her in the U.S. Open last summer, maybe I'll get a chance to get up there on Saturday.

I assume you mean 1:45 on FRI and 9:25 SAT? Unless they moved it back a day?

Here's a link to live scoring; Amy started out with a bogey on her second hole to go +1, but a lot of golf left...

Oops, yeah that's what I meant.

I'm still thinking about going up there on Saturday, but it's supposed to be pretty chilly with a 50% chance of rain.:(

I wish Saturday's weather would be like today's, dammit...

Amy finishes first round at 3 over

Amy shot a first round 75 (+3) and is tied for 75th, but only 6 shots from the leader (as the board is bunched) after round 1 of 3...only a couple players yet to tee off...

As I understand it the top 8 teams and the next two best individuals advance to the National Championship. If that's the case after round 1, the 'cut line' for Amy is -1.

The weather is going to be kinda crappy today -- cooler with chances of rain -- and worse tomorrow. If they are able to play through it, maybe it will be to Amy's advantage since most of the other golfers are from southern schools...

Oral Roberts in their traditional position of last place in their regional(east).

(I shouldn't talk too much because NDSU could take that same spot starting next year.)

Looks like Amy is about half way through Round 2 and even for the day (+3 for the tournament). With the morning wave in the club house and the afternoon wave on the back nine the field has come back to her a bit. Looks like EVEN par is the individual qualifier 'cut line' at the moment.

Amy finished tied for 12th(-1 for her round and +2 overall for the tournament), she is one stroke back from qualifying. Final round is tomorrow.

Amy just made the turn at 2 over. I caught up with her at #6, can't seem to catch a break. Barely missing the right spots and get a putt to drop.

She's going to need a monster final 8 holes to make the cut. She's three back at the moment, and at least a couple golfers above her have yet to tee off. While that could help her, it could also hurt her.

Birdie on 12 gives Amy a chance. Six holes to go and two shots below the cut.

Lipped out a par putt on 14...

Dammit -- a couple of missed short putts cost Amy today, she missed getting into a playoff by one stroke.

Congrats on a great season, though...

Talked to Amy's father, Mark yesterday at work. Seems that Amy and her mother Twyla were going to the site of the NCAA DI Tournament. Amy was to receive this evening the Dinah Shore Award for the most outstanding DI women's golfer. I think the men have the Hogan Award. Mark said that her name would be engraved in crystal at the Dinah Shore Tournament in Mission Hills. He also thought that the NDSU Athletic Dept. would be receiving $10,000 for their Athletic Dept. for the award. Another fine award for a very deserving fine young lady.

What's Amy's status for the US Open this summer?

I just downloaded a entry form from the USGA. Amy is not on the exempt list. If she did not enter sectional qualifying last
Thursday at the Wayzata CC in Minnesota, she would have to been entered at The Broadmore in Colorado on Sunday. She has relatives down there, but she has a pretty busy schedule this summer with the Curtus Cup in about 10 days, so maybe she didn't enter this year.
