At Penn Relays ... here is Oregon's 4 x 800 and 4 x 400 results:

4 x 800:
-------
8:24.16 Claudia Francis (2:08.6), Laura Roesler (2:04.5), Becca Friday (2:06.3), Anne Kesselring (2:04.7)

Note that Laura Roesler had the fastest split. Just a matter of time before she has a breakthrough, I think. The talent is there, the training is probably very good, so the biggest hurdle is likely the mental part.

4 x 400:
-------
3:34.08 Devin Gosberry (57.1), Chizoba Okodogbe (51.8), Laura Roesler (53.0), Phyllis Francis (52.2)

A 53.0 quarter is very good as well.

At Drake ... much interesting Bison news.

comment - missing in the news, as is the norm for track and field, is the weather conditions. But weather can make a huge difference. Weather conditions at Drake were very marginal, not very good. Temperatures were about 50-62 ... which is not very warm for running events (except maybe the 5,000 or 10,000). Mostly overcast for the four days, with some rain the first couple days. Ideal temps are 70s, low 80s.

Bison did a great job.
Distance Medley, men - school record: 9:41.85 seconds, breaking the 1979 record of 9:43.65
Shuttle Hurdles, men - school record: 58.05 seconds, breaking the previous NDSU record of 59.78
100 meters, women - school record: Goodman in 11.71
Steeplechase, women - 2nd and 3rd best all-time: (school Record is 10:23.28)
Maddie McClellan - 10:24.87
Amy Jo Thorne - 10:28.48
4 x 400, womens - school record: - 3:38.09
4 x 800, womens - 2nd all-time: - 8:36.31 (school record is 8:34.14)

I think that is everything for new school records, and 2nd and 3rd all time at NDSU.
There were several other performances that also made the top 10 lists at NDSU.

Great job by all these folks.

It was 50s cool and windy on saturday at Drake. I was there thursday-saturday.. it was DRAKE weather u never know.(From sambini on the Leslie Brost Post)

Makes the performances even more impressive. Suggests significant upside. I hope NDSU can help some of these men and women go to meets like the Jim Bush Invitational (early June) for those that don't make the NCAA Div I meet. Weather is just getting nice, tough to reach one's peak by mid-May ... last meet of the year, except for the NCAA qualifiers.
